“Not of Marriott Quality needs a big upgrade in service as well as facility.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

I was here for 2 days, I was upgraded to a river view with a balcony. This was a nice gesture, but there were constant 40 - 50 MPH, but my room could not be kept warm due to the gaps in the sliding glass door (3/4"). The gaps gave wind noises that made it difficult to sleep with an all night howl. The change in air pressure due to the poor doors even "flushed" the toilets, leaving little or no water in the toilets.

The room was very small, and of the older Marriott style.

On the Two times we went to eat at the restaurant in the lobby (eggs for breakfast, soup and salad for lunch) we waited over 40 min, each time for our food, As the menu was very limited, and the service EXTREMELY poor and SLOW, I would never recommend anyone to eat at the restaraunts at this hotel. As Business people we needed to get in and out. This is not available at this location .

Room Tip: It is a LONG way from where you might want to be. I can take 30-45 Min. to get a taxi, as they are...

I was expecting a bit more, the lobby is nice and comfortable, as is the restaurant and bar areas.
The breakfast buffet was just average, and the room, while comfortable, had a small bathroom, shower had mold in the grout, didn't drain well, and the towels were dingy. This hotel has no view. I've stayed at both the Marriott Courtyard across the street, and it has a fabulous view, and is less expensive. I also like the Marriott Renaissance downtown.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice now. We really like the rooms and accessibility of the hote in relation to downtown. They do have a shuttle (fee) that is worth it if you're going to be going downtown. It's easy and convenient. Breakfast in the room has been wonderful. The people are really friendly and if you get a room on a high floor, you'll get to enjoy a great view too!

Besides having a beautiful lobby and a great restaurant and bar staff this place is horrible. no indoor pool.
The phone just rings at the front desk and roomservice closes an hour early if they even answer. The rooms smell like mildew bad especially on 804.
It is a 2 star at best.
The bar staff is the only bright spot the are knowledgeable on drinks and food. Don't believe the star rating all flash and no substance.
The bathrooms are a mold and caulk nightmare
contacted front desk they were good at saying sorry but nothing else

Room Tip: stay at hotels in old quarter across from square if you want good service

We used Marriott points with a discount since the pool was being renovated. It was pretty convenient to downtown and the historic district. Not one of the nicest Marriotts but we would stay here again. It was more reasonable than the hotels in the historic district. When the pool is finished, it will be much nicer I am sure.

The hotel was a great location to view the water! We had rented a boat for the day at the marina and the hotel was extremely close to that and an easy cab drive to the bar areas. Hotel staff was just okay, but we only interacted with them twice.

Room Tip: We received a top floor room with balcony. Worth the extra cost!! You receive access to the concierg...

I arrived late for check in which I let the hotel know when I was booking the hotel. When I arrived the lady was rude and unhelpful to our requests. After a long drive, this put a damper on the visit. The next day I spoke to the manager and he was not helpful either and did not care that his staff was rude. This hotel came highly recommended but I will never stay here again.
