“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay - I was travelling with 3 other women & we were able to get rooms with 2 double beds in each - plenty of parking too. The rooms were comfortable & clean - the staff was courteous & extremely helpful. The Charleston Market, Waterfront Park, carriage tours, restaurants & many more sites were all within walking distance. The breakfast & afternoon wine & cheese were good. The only negative thing I have to say is that although they have a lovely courtyard it can't be used in the rain & it's uncomfortable when it's hot & humid. That being said we had a wonderful time & would go back to the Indigo Inn.

Thank you for your comments and recommendations!!! I am sorry that you were not able to enjoy the courtyard on this trip, but maybe on future visits the weather will be more conducive for courtyard use.

If you want to be in the heart of the city within walking distance to just about everything, this is a great place to stay. Rooms are small with dated furnishings, but clean and adequate if you are not spending a lot of time there. Wine and cheese in the early evening is a nice touch and the breakfast is ok. Personnel is very friendly and helpful.

My husband surprised me with this wonderful Inn for our one year weekend away. We also were able to bring our dog for a very low price. Clean room, friendly staff, great wine and cheese, great breakfast and the location was fantastic. We will def be back. Thanks Indigo Inn!!

We recently stayed at the Indigo Inn and enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely hospitable and friendly. Our room was comfortable, had free WiFi and a lot of dresser space. The courtyard is a beautiful spot to enjoy your complimentary breakfast in the mornings and the wine and snacks in the afternoon/evening. We were within a 5-10 minute walk of anything we wanted to explore. I would recommend as a good value for the cost.

We stayed in the Jasmine Coach House and loved the beautiful garden outside our room, the peace and quiet even though we were right in the heart of the downtown historic district. The reception desk was a very friendly and efficient place, reserved a table for dinner in a lovely nearby restaurant with vegetarian choices, not always so easy to find. Parking was very close and convenient, access to a fridge for medications no problem at all. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the tv, in minutes someone came to explain that to us.

We would go back here and will certainly tell anyone going to Charleston to choose the Indigo Inn for an accommodation with charm at a reasonable price, good price:value!

There are too many better options in Charleston. The Indigo Inn is in a great location but is a little rough around the edges. The room décor is old and dated and not in a charming historic charlestonian way. The staff is friendly and helpful but not enough to bump their rating higher. I contemplated giving the Indigo 2 stars, but thought that may be a little harsh.

ADVICE--Double check your email confirmation. This hotel group has three hotels in Charleston and may book you at another hotel without telling you. I had originally called and made a reservation at the Indigo Inn's sister property, the Jasmine House. Upon review of the confirmation email, I noticed that the RSVP was made for the indigo inn. When I called them back to let them know about the discrepancy, I was told that the Jasmine House was sold out, and we were therefore given a room at the Indigo. They said the Indigo was very nice and we would be just as happy there. In hindsight, we weren’t, but I can't fault the hotel because I made the decision to keep the RSVP.

Pro's: Excellent location, quaint courtyard, complimentary wifi, breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese.

Con's: Shower early if you want hot water, old décor (not in a good way), price is high for what you get.

NOTE--I would recommend the Meeting Street Inn, which is another sister property to the Indigo Inn.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming inn! We arrived in Charleston and stopped first at the Visitor's Center. We had no lodging plan. The very helpful hotel gal gave us several choices to consider to stay at for the night. We chose the Indigo Inn and were not disappointed! The price was right ($149 for 3 ppl), the location was central to everything, and the room was clean and comfortable. Plus, they had complimentary wine and cheese from 5-6:30 as well as breakfast in the AM! There was a variety of breakfast choices; cereal, yogurt, sausage biscuits, ham and cheese croissants, fruit, bagels and pastries.
We would stay here again!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 311 overlooking the central courtyard. The elevator was very close to our room. St...
