We had never been to Charleston before, and wanted to be in the heart of the historic downtown area. Booked the Indigo Inn based on its location and the quaint description. It did not disappoint. We arrived early and yet a room was available on the third floor (elevator is available). Rooms surround a courtyard with tables chairs and sofas. Open to the sky. Netting above keeps the birds out. The room was cute, had a nice closet. Bath area was separated by louvered doors. Shower and toilet separated again by a door from the sink area. Bath had been updated. Bed had an historic four poster high up off the floor. They even had steps you could pull over to climb into the bed (queen). Window overlooked the parking area, but let a lot of light in as it faced east. Lemonade, ice tea, available all day, and wine and fruit and cheeses available from 5-6:30 each afternoon. Very short walk to most of the popular restaurants, Market, churches, historic sights and so on. Ignatius checked us in and we found the staff very friendly.
