great hotel and location. beds were comfortable. suite living area furniture was a dated and could use upgrading. Our family enjoyed the complimentary breakfast but the dining area was chaotic and cramped during peak breakfast. Perhaps with more staff "hands on deck" during busy times it might go more smoothly. i did not see a manager directing the breakfast staff though the crew that was there seemed to be trying their best.

The atrium of the hotel was fantastic. It was open to all five floors. Our room was the usual size for an Embassy Suite. They had the usual free breakfast cooked to order and cocktails in the evening. The only complaint is my husband only drinks beer and the only kind of beer they had was Budweiser - the only kind he doesn't drink. we had trouble with our cable and it was the March madness so it drove him crazy. They always cam promptly for anything we needed. He loved the building - we would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our visit to what my 4 year old referred to as the "castle hotel". The Embassy is unique and in the best possible location. Rooms ample and similiar to other ES I have stayed in. I hope the management is reading because with a little extra effort this property could be an A+. They need to address the common areas for breakfast and managers reception. Invest in some permanent tables and expand toward the doorway and move captains desk next to concierge. Breakfast was great and managers reception was topshelf. I will return.

We decide to gateway over weekend to Charleston Area. We stayed at Embassy Suites (We prefer over any other limited service hotel). Perfect location, just outside of busy Market Street and water front area. Room were well kept for being 'historic building'. Staff was great from check in to check out. Evening reception was just relaxing. We love their am breakfast - one reason we favor them over other limited service hotel.

Prepare to pay extra for parking and walk block from parking garage or have Valet parking.... either way it will cost you extra.

Beautiful hotel with all the historic charm, but close enough to make walking the city perfect, all the way down to the battery!
Our children love the park right out the side door to play soccer, after swimming. Staff is always accommodating, and gracious .

Room Tip: we had a room with a full window, added lots of light.

Worth the money for a special occasion. Package included a dozen roses, bottle of champagne, room with Jacuzzi tub, free valet parking, late check out, and we also received a free horse drawn carriage ride. Not sure if it was also part of the package or was added because i mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary? Either way it was a nice surprise =) Beautiful hotel and location. Free breakfast is awesome, made to order omelets along with everything else you would expect. Staff is very pleasant and quick to answer/do what you need.

Room Tip: rooms on bottom floor west side are close to street, can be noisy

After checking in, there was a slight glitch in the lock on our door. The staff quickly made other arrangements for us and then went above and beyond the call of duty to make certain we enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend this hotel.
