“Best Oysters in Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

We stopped in for Happy Hour and did we get some of the best Oysters we had in a long time. We started with Shrimp appetizer and 2 dozen oysters, we asked if they could do a light steam on them and they did, but that's not the norm for locals. We finished the dinner off with seared Scallops over Red Rice and a side of asparagus. The Shucker’s were very sociable too. Need to get their early or plan on a long wait, but the wait is worth it.

“Busy for a reason.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

We stopped by recently for dinner and the place was very busy. We were a party of 6 so understandably had to wait a little while for a table, but it was worth it. The raw oysters were reasonably priced and very good, as were the hush puppies. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the place had a very nice relaxed atmosphere. My only minor complaint (and it is very minor) would be that I asked for my tuna rare and it was a little overcooked for my taste. There are also a few non-fish options on the menu. It's in a really pretty area of downtown Charleston so there are plenty of places to kill a little time if you do have to wait for a table.

“What You See is What You Get.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

My wife and I had lunch here on our recent trip to Charleston. The décor is consistent with an upscale oyster bar. The location is excellent, but parking is always a problem in this area. There should not be any problem walking in, except at the peak hours.

I had the raw oysters, which were medium sized, and had a reasonably fresh taste. Their sauces are excellent. Be sure to try the vinegar based oyster sauce. Also be sure to have one (or more) of the oyster shooters (an oyster in a shot glass with pepper vodka and a spicy tomato/horseradish sauce – delicious)

My wife had a stacked seafood salad, which had a substantial amount of crab and shrimp, but was a tad dry, but very tasty.

“Happy hour hotspot!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

Great happy hour specials! Happy hour extends to whole restaurant and not just the bar area. The bar is packed with a lively crowd and is a great spot to meet friends. The staff handles the crowds well and doesn't meet a beat. The people are friendly and chatty. Good for people who want to mingle.
The tacos were delicious! The cabbage slaw was so good I had to order a second one. The fried oysters were not greasy. The beers on tap were great to wash everything down with and there are other cocktails and wines too. Excellent place for crowds!
