Lee Lee's Hot Kitchen - This new gem of a restaurant, located in Charleston's West Side one block south of Johnson Hagood Stadium, is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood! The flavorful scallion pancakes are the perfect appetizer. If you prefer a starter on the lighter side, try the Chicken Lettuce Wraps or opt for the Chinese Chicken Salad or Kale Salad, both are delicious. If eating light, for your main course try the Stir-Fried Bok Choy – deliciousness – or the Sichuan Style Green Beans - are also quite tangy.
If you are looking for the traditional/typical dishes (Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken with Broccoli, etc) those are all quite tasty, too. The Shanghai Noodles are similar to Lo Mein in other Asian restaurants.
Now, if you are looking to try something new & different – I highly recommend the following dishes in order of preference: Peking Scallops (they melt in your mouth), Salt & Pepper Shrimp (packed with flavor), or the Singapore Rice Noodles – the robust flavor is scrumptious!
They have a full bar for those who prefer libations to accompany their meal. The Orient Express is succulent! If you are a beer lover, the Lucky Buddha is great and the bottle rocks!
They are open for lunch and dinner. Sit at the bar to enjoy your meal while watching the chefs work their magic with the woks. It is amazing to see them in action when the restaurant is hopping.
