“Excellent Choice in the French Quarter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed Tristan greatly while we stayed in the French Quarter Inn (Tristan is on the ground floor). The menu takes a little explanation as you choose from several small plates depending on haw many courses you choose. The server was flexible on one choice and we fully understood our options. Service was excellent and the food the same. While the plates are small, the five course meal was plenty (even for me who enjoys larger portions). We had the salmon and short rib as our "main" items and they were both excellent. As a tip, you may want to check before you go. We heard that the restaurant might be moving (or closing at least at the French Quarter). Hopeful more people check out Tristan. They won't be disappointed.

“Prex Fixe Menu Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Having not been to Tristan for a year and having heard about the new tapas type menu, we went to dinner on a Saturday night and were very pleased. After sharing a cheese board we picked the four course offering with the wine paring, which between the two of us let us try all six of the first three course choices and two of the three desserts (you could try all six and a dessert, but you would probably be over stuffed). Everything was great, and we were more than satisfied.

“Impressed”

Easy sophistication. Been all around the world and the best meal I have had in the US. European quality. Delicate tastes and yet a light meal.

“Different/Enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

We had a very lovely dinner. Nice environment. The service was impeccable - down to offering lemon or lime for one's drink. The choices were very nouvelle cuisine, I believe. There was a fixed price menu - depending on the number of courses. The food looked beautiful and was inventive. The server was perfect. We had another engagement, told her, and she was very aware of that and helped us make our next event in plenty of time. Very nice. (Rather expensive, but that would be expected here.)
