“Great lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Wonderful lunch on the water. Ask for a table next to the windows. The food was excellent and our waiter was great. My daughter had shrimp and "the best seafood gumbo ever" and my husband had the flounder sandwich which he said was great. Would go back for sure!

“Stunning Water Views. Eclectic Menu. Great drinks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

We had made a reservation online, requested a table with water views, and timed it so that we would be seated around sunset. The sky was gorgeous and the restaurant offered perfect views of the water. My brother in law is stationed in Charleston with the Navy so we thought this would be a perfect place to spend out last evening in picturesque Charleston. The Fleet Landing did not disappoint. The menu during restaurant week offered a good selection (appetizer, entree, and dessert for $30). The Shrimp and Grits were cooked perfectly. I asked the bartender if he had blue cheese stuffed olives for a martini. He said No, but that he could make them. Perfect response. It was an awesome martini with a sheet of ice on top. The hostess seated us at a table without water views at first. When I mentioned that I specifically made a request for a water view in my reservation..they changed our table without hesitation. Again, a great response.
They had a great wine list which covered some unique wines that we can't always find at home.
Overall, dinner was an excellent experience. If you have a Navy connection, this is a fabulous restaurant to dine in since this is where the Navy fleets would come to dock...way back in the day.

“Wonderful food on the water in Charleston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

There are several good seafood restaurants in Charleston, but Fleet Landing turned out to be a perfect fit for us. The dining room is a converted navy building on the river, stripped down but attractive and not too noisy (provided they turn the music down, which they did). The food, mostly seafood, is simply prepared and simply delicious. Started with one of the best seafood gumbos ever, followed by varied fried seafood platters (oysters, flounder, shrimp) which were perfectly prepared. Even the hush puppies were delicious. Desserts were equally good-- pecan pie, Hugenot torte, bread pudding, key lime pie. Service was friendly and prompt. If you're looking for an very enjoyable seafood lunch or dinner, what you want is what you get at Fleet Landing.

“Unique dining on the water!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

All I can say is that it's delicious. We were downtown in the waterfront looking for a unique seafood place for lunch and this fit it perfectly! The decor is neat with reproduction chairs of the original aluminum Navy chairs. I believe this is the only restaurant on the water in a Charleston.

“It has changed.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

I gave Fleet Landing a rave review back in December of 2012. I was looking forward to revisiting it on a return trip to Charleston last week. This time it was different.

First of all we walked in at 4pm on a weekend and was told they were only serving salads and appetizers for the next hour. We thought that was odd. Business was steady the time we were there. We figured we would just have an app, some drinks and relax for awhile and then order dinner.

We ordered the stuffed hush puppies. When they arrived they looked appetizing. However; the dough was raw and soggy on the inside and the shrimp and crab were cold. We only were able to eat one. Since we didn't see anything else on the appetizer menu we wanted and we didn't feel like waiting 45 at that point to order any entrees we just decided to bail on the whole place.

We asked the waiter, who was friendly and pleasant, to bring us our check and he promptly did so. We were a little disappointed he didn't ask us anything about how we enjoyed the food, it should have been obvious something was wrong since we asked for the check 5 minutes after he brought the app to us and only one of the hush puppies were eaten. We just figured he didn't want to comp it since that would affect his tip...it wouldn't have, it wasn't his fault.

Anyway the place still has a great atmosphere and is right on the water. The staff is friendly. It looked like their menu changed since we were there a year ago and their prices were higher. So we left kind of disappointed.
