Stayed here 4/18 thru 4/21/2008. What a great place to stay! Such attention we received from the moment we stepped out of the cab on Friday when we arrived. The bell showed us a few things around the Inn and stowed our luggage since our room wasn't quite ready. They also called us on our cell to let us know when it was. Such a charming place and centrally located in a beautiful city. There is a great park down the street and a long pier to walk on. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and we have been to many nice inns. The Innkeeper's reception every afternoon is a really great way to meet other people who are staying at the inn. Rooftop bar is fun, but noisy and very young crowd.

I would stay here again in a minute. Love it!

The Vendue Suites has the perfect location for walking around Charleston; it is close to everything you'd want to see and a couple of terrific restaurants. It is very clean and Jean, the manager, is friendly and accomodating. The only downside to this property for me was the popular night club across the street and the 5:30am wake-up by the street sweepers & trash trucks. But, that is the price of a nice place in the middle of downtown. If you like the night life scene, this is probably the perfect place for you.

What a great stay! We were two women visiting Charleston for the Home and Garden Tours. Our 2 bedroom, bath and a half suite was perfect apart from limited window access, and that looking into the side of another building. However, with it being St. Patrick's day on our arrival and bars nearby, we were probably saved from the celebratory noise. I don't think I would have been as enthusiastic with the one bedroom (bath on the loft above).

We were provided with plenty of breakfast food and wine and cheese in the afternoon which was adequate for lunch as well ,most days.

The location allowed us to park the car and not move it until our departure. There is a minimal charge for parking in a very close covered facility.

We ate great food at 82 Queen Street, High Cotton and S.N.O.B. the latter two 1/2 block away. All in all this was a great stay, thanks to Jean who provided for our creature comforts at the Suites.

“Great for a longer stay!”

We stayed for 6 nights in a 2-bedroom suite on the top floor of Vendue Suites. The location is great for Waterfront Park, many restaurants, historic homes, shopping on King Street, the market and about a 15-20 minute walk to the aquarium and Fort Sumter Ferry.

The extra room provided with the kitchenette area and additional 1/2 bath were great for our longer stay. The parking area is only a block away and also very convenient. However, you only need a car if you plan to visit some of the sites outside of downtown such as the beach or one of the plantations--> well worth it from our point of view.

Jean, keeps the place very clean and is very helpful with recommendations on restaurants and places to visit. There are brochures, restaurant menus, walking tour information, etc. available on the landing.

The street itself is somewhat noisy with several bars nearby, but we didn't hear anything inside the suite. It is very quiet, air-conditioned, but has no views if that is important to someone.

Jean leaves wine and cheese as well as a continental breakfast each day, which was great. A coffee maker, microwave, oven, refrigerator comes in handy to store some extra beverages or make a frozen pizza!

Overall, this place is well worth the money and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Trip Advisor does it again! I chose Vendue Suites based upon the Trip Advisor reviews. It did not dissappoint, and neither did Jean, the manager. She was so helpful and accomodating - offered us maps, suggestions for sightseeing and restaurants - she even produced a needle & thread for a last minute wardrobe fix. The room (more like an apartment) was impeccable - the breakfast and wine were enjoyable features. The tub does have a high step, but it was an enjoyable escape after a full day of walking around town. Priced well and convenient to all downtown attractions, it is our first choice when we visit Charleston. Thanks Jean - we will be back!
