“Superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We ate at Magnolia's during our weekend stay in Charleston. It was FABULOUS! Everything from the food/drink to the service and atmosphere was perfect. Every dish had a bit of southern flare which is just what we wanted visiting Charleston. We would definitely go back and highly recommend it!

“Good, not great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Had dinner last night. Food was very good, I had flounder and my wife had trout. Both excellent. The restaurAnt was fairly Crowded and noisy. Dress was very casual, some people wearing t-shirts and flip flops. Atmosphere detracted somewhat from the food. Service was good.

“very good but has fallen from being excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We went to lunch here on an OpenTable reservation. We have eaten lunch and dinner here are numerous occasions. The food was very good although the lobster was tough in the sea grit dish. The fried green tomatoes were only so so. The service was very good as usual. We probably won't return.

“Fabulous Girl's Night Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

Eight of us "Yankee" women descended on Magnolia's for a Girls' Night Out and had a great evening. The waiter was infinitely patient with us, even after we asked to change tables to something closer to the window. He even offered us the option of separate checks (Bless him!). Everyone was delighted with their meals and the service. I shared the crabcake appetizer with a friend and it was delicious. For dinner I ordered the shellfish with grits which was absolutely fabulous. Hate to admit it, but I ordered mashed potatoes on the side in case the grits weren't to my liking but the grits were perfect! So yummy with the lobster sauce. Unfortunately, we were all too stuffed for dessert so I look forward to my next visit to Magnolia's.

“Absolute favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Magnolias in Charleston, SC is probably my favorite restaurant in the United States. I love the old school feel and outstanding service! We visit Charleston every year and Magnolias is always on our list of restaurants to visit. The menu is very traditional and might not be the most original (Charleston has some fantastically creative restaurants!) but it truly represents the city.

If you have a chance to go, do not pass it up! (and order the seafood over grits!!)
