“There are just no words....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

One of the most amazing dining experiences of my life! Food is incredible! I saw Baby Jesus in the bottom of the bowl of Collard greens! Fried chicken, pork chops, Lima beans, Mac and cheese, cornbread dressing, peach cobbler, I've tried it all. One visit was all it took to hook me. One visit was all it took to make me fall in love. And one visit was all it took for Ms. Debra and Ms. Martha Lou to make me part of the family. Every time I step through the doors I feel like I'm coming home! As a tour guide in Charleston I will be recommending it to everyone I see!

“Crispy crackly and moist to the last piece”

Best chicken ever,
please don't gussy up the place and loose
your touch and focus with food.

Stay tasty and delicious just like you are.

“Better than Grandma's Fried Chicken”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

I heard of this place on Travel Channel. On our last day in Charleston we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. The fried chicken was the best , so moist , well seasoned and the skin was crispy. The chicken breast was humongous , i couldn't eat it all. Mind you i took the left over with me and ate it later in our hotel room. The butter beans, green beans and rice were also delicious. No wonder a lot of celebrity and tourist ate here. Martha herself served our food, what a sweet lady. I highly recommend you try Martha Lou's if you are visiting Charleston.

“Pretty good fried chicken, can't wait to go back!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

My husband heard about this place on the travel channel and I'm glad we decided to go. I can only speak on the chicken because that is all I had. The mac and cheese and greens were good. The lemonade tasted like kool-aid. On the weekends the owners daughters are there serving. I highly recommend you try Martha Lou's. Bring cash or a check because they DO NOT take credit cards.

“Hot and uncomfortable...food OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Won't go back although we liked the people.
Chicken was OK, but we thought the sides were so so at best.
The restaurant was small, seats uncomfortable and there was no AC on.
Kinda of pricey - $11 for 2 pieces and 2 sides.
