“Good southern cooking and seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

We had no problem getting in early at 6:15 though our reservation was for 6:45; by 8 pm the place was packed but it seemed they still had space. As spring break continues, it will probably be hard to get in without a reservation. We had the recommended She Crab soup and were very pleased. The Fried green tomatoes were thick and good, but you have to like fried foods. The Shrimp and grits were quite tasty in a creamy sauce but the Scallops and grits were even better with a slightly tastier sauce. We shared a Southern Sundae. An excellent meal. The restaurant is located on E. Bay St away from the downtown historic area.

“Great Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

We spent a long weekend in Charleston and the inn where we were staying recommended Blossom for dinner. It was really good, but a bit noisy. More of a tourist place, but excellent presentation of the dinners and service was excellent. The wine list is a bit limited, but had some reasonable wines by the glass. Unfortunately, it was a bit chilly when we were there, so were unable to take advantage of their outdoor seating, which looks really nice and probably would be great when warmer. Just don't know if the bugs would be too much in the warmer weather. Reservations are required, or you'll have an extensive wait. They are doing some remodeling inside, but it is not intrusive at all, nice décor and very pleasant. The swordfish was excellent as were the crab cakes. Very nice place, and certainly would return.

“Great food in Charleston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

What a lovely restaurant. This was my first visit to Charleston and it was a quick trip. Saturday was beautiful and sunny and everyone was out so the restaurants were packed. However our timing was good and we didn't have to wait for a table. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She suggested I try the soup of the day, a creamy asparagus soup with smoky ham - great choice and delicious. In addition, I had the pecan crusted flounder with asparagus surrounded by a drizzle of apple butter. Seemed like a strange combination but It was wonderful - just as the server said, sweet and savory. My friend had the she crab soup and fish tacos which were delicious also. I hope to return some day soon to spend more time and will definitely return to Blossom.

“We got in early”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

We arrived earlier than our reservation time and they had no problem seating us. (there were many empty tables) The service was very good. I ordered, as an afterthought, the ubiquitous she crab soup ( I was on a mission to have it at every restaurant) and our server, I think his name was Brian, was very gracious and put the order in. Sadly, I did not think the soup tasted anything like she crab should taste and Brian removed it from the table and took it off our bill. The tables were very nicely spaced and there was a lovely outdoor dining area we would have happily sat in had the weather been a little more gentle.

“Start to finish.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

From the outdoor seating on a wonderfully warm evening to dessert this was a fabulous evening. The service was very good and the food was original and tasty. The food presentation made the entire meal a real treat. Would go again when we travel there again.
