“Pricy but good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

We stopped in for lunch after touring the grounds. Unfortunately, three of us are not able to eat the price they had for the buffet so we ordered a la carte salads. The mixed greens are grown there and we loved the homemade dressings. My husband was able to do the buffet and loved the fried chicken and collard greens. The corn pudding was a little runny and the cole slaw didn't really have a taste (not sweet or tart). The three of us who did salads were able to order desserts upon request. Highly recommend the Hugenot Torte and the pecan pie!

“Not All It's Cracked Up to Be”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014 via mobile

Disappointing, mostly because expected more from the reviews I read. Option for lunch was a very traditional high calorie cholesterol fix that looked okay from what we saw others having. We had beet salads with grilled salmon, which was totally fine, just surprisingly uninspired. Had to ask for bread. Waitress was pleasant. Nice surroundings but not special...it's just another okay spot.

“Good food but not for kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

Very limited menu...there was nothing that my hungry 12 year wanted to order...$18 later she ate a piece of cornbread and a piece of chicken off the buffet.

“Great food. Beautiful setting. ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

My husband and I stayed at the Middleton inn for a few days and ate at the restaurant for dinner and lunch. Dinner was wonderful. I had veggie risotto and the flourless chocolate cake, both were delicious. My husband had the fillet with potatoes. He enjoyed his meal. He also had pecan pie that he said was quite good. Dress nice for dinner. Lunch was good. Dress casual. We had fried chicken, pulled pork and sides.

“Pretty view, nice atmosphere, average meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

We were welcomed by peacocks and sat overlooking a pond and gardens. Wish we could say the meal was equally as enchanting, but is was not. It was just average. We ordered chicken and dumplings which seemed more like chicken soup and duck which was tough and fatty. Maybe they were just having a bad night, but we would take a pass the next time we are in town.
