Five Loaves is a great little lunch spot hidden in the streets of Charleston. It’s pretty small, so I had to wait about 10 minutes for a seat but the variety of choices on the menu was excellent and not your typical lunch menu. They had a lot of exotic combinations of flavors. I got the Gouda and tomato basil soup which was delicious and definitely recommended. I also got half of the turkey sandwich which had this great cranberry sauce on it. The service was pretty slow, but the behind the scene in the kitchen was fantastic providing excellent food. However, it did take a long time for the waiter to get the checks and he ended up giving me the wrong amount of change back. This was probably an honest mistake but the service responsiveness was not great because it took me a while to get the right change back. My expected service at Five Loaves was not met, but the meal was still very good. This being the first time I have been there, I’m not sure what the dinner atmosphere is like but I have heard that it is a better place for lunch. All in all, it was a great meal and I would definitely recommend anyone to go there.
