We arrived quite early and were greeted very well by the staff . Oour server seemed to be quite knowledgeable and was very helpful with the menu an the wine list.
The room was better than most and we enjoyed the ambiance. .
Before we ordered, I had a local beer and my wife enjoyed a glass of white wine.
For dinner I had a special and my wife ordered the 'Steak Dianne". We ordered a bottle of red wine based on the server's suggestion.' I found my dinner to be a little on the salty side and after a few minutes my wife complained the mushrooms with her dish were so salty as to be inedible. She is a salt freak and I make constant comments concerning the amount of salt she consumes.
When the very attentive waiter asked the usual question about about the extent of our enjoyment of our dinners, we mentioned the salt and asked whether the locals enjoyed salty food. He told us that salty dishes were prefered by the locals and that if we preffered less salty dihes, we should inform our server to ask the kitchen to ' go light on the salt".
Our almost inedible meal was quite expesive but ruined by the heavy salt hand of the alleged chef,
As our comments to the server clearly identified us as visitors to his fine city he should have explained the salt situation before we ordered.
Other than the amount spent on overly salty food and the server's after the fact information, we enjoyed the restaurant!
