Thank you, Peninsula Grill, for providing my mother with a memorable birthday supper. From the moment the hostess greeted us, to the last bite dessert, we were treated to genuine hospitality, gracious service and gourmet food. The evening was, quite simply, a world-class experience.
When we arrived for our 6:30 p.m. reservation on a Monday night, there was an appealing energy in the dining room with several tables in the midst of their entrée course. The room itself was lovely to behold—refined, not fussy— with velvet-lined walls and crisp table linens. The polished décor set the stage, and our server, Danielle, played her role to perfection. Attentive and deeply knowledgeable about the menu, she exemplified the best qualities of a professional server. It was, however, her delightful personality that immediately won us over. Danielle was (is) the exact right person to guide you through a sophisticated dinner: intuitive and genuine.
While I have had the good fortune to dine in respected and celebrated restaurants in many cities, I will not feign being a sophisticated food critic or attempt to wax poetically about the cuisine. I enjoy real food and simple preparation. My words would fall short in the description of the dishes we enjoyed at Peninsula Grill although I will attest to the evident freshness and supreme quality of the ingredients used throughout the meal—every bite was full of real flavor. Go, taste for yourself.
One food note: The special salad featuring fuyu persimmon paired with radicchio was outstanding. Simple, fresh and delicious—we could not have wished for anything better.
Thank you, Peninsula Grill… you served us with style… it was quite a treat to celebrate the birthday at 112 North Market Street. We hope to return soon.

Thank you for choosing Peninsula Grill to celebrate your mother's birthday. We are all thrilled that you had such a wonderful evening. Danielle is one of our passionate, knowledgeable and long-standing waitstaff. What a difference that makes in the dining experience, The Persimmon and Radicchio Salad was a special that was composed of ingredients flown in fresh from California. Chef Graham Dailey is passionate about the ingredients that we compose our menu from. Freshly harvested persimmons from Santa Barbara seemed like a perfect ingredient in a fall salad . I am glad that you agreed. We look forward to serving you again.
