We were in Charleston during restaurant week, so reservations were difficult, if not impossible, to get anywhere. We had read about Hank's, though, so dropped in to see if we could get a table. No tables, but seating at one of the long bar tables was available so we took it. A delightful couple of tourists from Pittsburgh sat across from us and we chatted during the meal. I had the Grilled Swordfish, not something I would usually order, but it sounded tempting. So glad I fell for the temptation! It is served atop a bed of (lightly) fried okra, sautéed spinach, and corn, leek and ham hock bisque. Can you say "YUM!!""? The only thing better was the She-Crab Soup we started off with...best ever. The service was impeccable, even as busy as the place was that evening. There are lots of great places to eat in Charleston, naturally, but Hank's is a place to add to your list next time you visit, for sure!
