“Great Value for Money While Taking a Hop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

What can you say about accommodations that are 1/3 of the price I would have paid in town? Hubby and I were very Blessed to get accommodations during summer months from Sunday until Friday Morning. We booked this time, just in case we were unable to get a flight out to Rota Spain and we needed nearly every day of it. The accommodations are what you would expect from an AF inn, so there were no surprises here. We had a one bedroom with bathroom (with full bathtub) and a sink and microwave area. The room comes with a comfortable chair with pull out ottoman (it is not attached and will pull out), TV with DVD (free movies at front desk), coffee/tea making machine (very small) and a microwave (as mentioned before). There is a nice size closet with iron and ironing board. Laundry facilities are found on each floor of our building (room 61XX right behind front desk building) and are free to guest. A car would be nice, but you could get around by walking to the BX, commissary or shopette (all less than a mile away on paved walkways). We timed our walk to the terminal at about 20 minutes without pulling bags, so add a few minutes with bags. The bowling alley is only a 5 minute walk from the terminal (where you can get meals if you are without a car) and the club is right next door to lodging front desk building. Yes, I have seen a few of those large bugs mentioned by other guest, but only outside of my room. Overall, this is a great place to stay!

Room Tip: They had trouble with air conditioner controls in the main building above front desk, so you were un...

I was impressed. The room was clean and had a queen bed, 2 dressers, a flat screen tv and DVD , a desk and chair plus another cushioned arm chair. There was plenty of lighting and outlets as well as a safe. The mini fridge also had a freezer compartment. There was a in room microwave and mini bar with cabinets. Your standard hair dryer, iron and board. The rooms were quiet. You could regulate the air and heat just fine. The carpet was clean and the bathroom was standard. The housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient as was the check in staff. The pillows however were not the best. We ate at the golf course grill for breakfast and lunch. Both times the food was good and reasonable. We were in town to see our new granddaughter so it was perfect for us!

Room Tip: No elevator so if stairs are a concern ask for a downstairs room

Great price for a stay about 14 miles from downtown Charleston. However, this place is in need of a renovation. On top of it there isn't any TV, they say there is a issue with their local provider. They need to clean the rooms better and add an elevator.

The front desk girl was really nice. We had a standard queen room and paid $53/night. It's near the BX and commissary which is convenient. The room had a mini fridge, microwave an ample space for my husband and I. As like most base lodging it is older but I always feel safer on base so we couldn't complain.

The hubby and I are on the last leg of our winter trip; decided to call Charleston AFB and see if a room was available. One was and we stayed one night. The standard room is great for a short stay; fridge, coffee maker, desk, flat screen TV and queen bed. Nice and clean and at $53/night, a deal. A bit hard to find after dark, but would recommend to anyone with base privileges.
