We stayed at this hotel at the end of March at the same time Charleston was in the midst of some unseasonably cold weather but the hotel itself and the welcome by the staff was very warm. We had some concerns about the location prior to our arrival due to other comments on TA but were quite happy once we arrived to leave our car safely parked as we explored downtown Charleston on foot. It all depends what you are used to I suppose but we had no issue with the distance from the centre but if you don't like to walk there is the free shuttle or else pay the higher rate for a central hotel! The hotel is new and the staff all seem to have a pride in keeping it clean and tidy and in an "as new" condition,
Our room was a good size with the usual frig and coffee maker which is useful and the bathroom had a large powerful shower. We weren't able to use the pool but it looked like it will popular in the heat of the summer. In particular we liked the "library" room on the second floor, a comfortable space to sit after a long day sightseeing if you didn't want to sit in your room, although our other favourite place was the bar! The hotel has a great bar with entertaining and knowledgeable bar staff unfortunately we weren't able to try the restaurant but we really enjoyed the meal we had in the bar. We would definitely return to this hotel if we are in Charleston again.
