I took my husband on a Labor Day weekend getaway to historical Charleston, and booked a townhouse room at the Church Street Inn after much research from several travel websites. We were immediately impressed with the elegance of the lobby, and friendliness of several employees upon our arrival. I told the young man at the desk named Miles, that it was my husband's birthday, and he said he had just the room for us. The townhouse was beautifully furnished with cherry furniture, a full kitchen, and a soft leather couch downstairs. but we were totally surprised and amazed to find that in the upstairs master bathroom, there was a huge jacuzzi with mirrored walls around it, and lighting on a dimmer switch. The bed was a king sized 4 poster with wonderfully soft linens that we just sunk down into. Talk about a recipe for a romantic evening!! Later that night when we discovered we'd like additional pillows, a call to the desk brought a very quick response. The only thing that could have been better would be a larger television in the bedroom; the distance from the bed to the TV was a bit far for the small size. The location of the Inn was perfect; we never took our car out of the parking garage as everything is right there or within a short walk. We definately will stay here again!!

we stayed at the church street inn from apr 21-24. the location couldn't be beat! we could go shopping, drop some things off and go out again!! the shops and restaurants were great. the food was reasonably priced! definitely go to tristian's a block down on market. we had a delicious lunch outside. also, aw schucks and tommy congdon's were great! the grayline tour picked us up right at the hotel and was very interesting. great way to get a "taste" of the city.

gary and patrick were very helpful. (front desk) we were never bothered by time share staff. the only con was the lighting in the living room was a little dim, especially for reading, but no big deal! we can't wait to return to chs and the csi!!

Talk about perfect location! This inn is close to just about everything in Charleston - sights, restaurants, shops, etc. If you don't need some of the normal hotel amenities (restaurant, pool, etc.), this is a great place. Rooms are spacious with two floors and a kitchen area. Will definitely stay here when I return.

I made a reservation here 2 months in advance, paid for the room, and after my credit card was charged we were told 10 days before we were going to leave that they no longer had any rooms for us. Then they tried to say they would give us SOME of our money back! Needless to say I demanded all of it back. Sounds like it's a pattern with this place. Because of the late notice I couldn't find any rooms in Charleston for a reasonable rate and ended up cancelling the whole vacation. It's not worth the risk to show up and find out they aren't going to honor their reservations. Stay away!

The entire staff is the absolute best! Chuck is wonderful...so friendly and helpful. He really makes us want to return year after year, and we have indeed stayed there several times. The location cannot be beat. Perfect! Love the rooms with a balcony overlooking Market Street. Every room we've had has been newly-remodeled with hardwood floors on the main floor and a nice kitchen. The bedroom and main bath is upstairs. Don't go if you are unable to climb stairs. Our only complaint is the mattresses on the pullout sleeper sofas are quite uncomfortable for our teenage son when he accompanies us.

The location is the main feature of the Church Street Inn. Can't get much better than this. The stairs are very steep so pray the elevator is working. Loved the 2 levels but there was no handrail on the stairs in our unit, which was very dangerous. I would not recommend this hotel to persons with mobility issues due to the steep stairs. Parking was convenient in a nearby parking garage. We loved being able to walk to Hymans and Aw Shucks and other great restaurants in the area. We didn't get any of the Timeshare Marketing pressure others mentioned.

Just last week, some friends of our treated us to a two-night stay at the Church Street Inn in Charleston, SC. We were nothing but pleased with the staff and amenities here. We checked out its reviews on Trip Advisor.com (just like we do for every place we plan on visiting), and saw that it had great reviews. The very few not-so-positive reviews seemed to be pretty isolated, so we weren't concerned. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was very informative and super helpful regarding parking, great places to eat/things to do and directions to these places. The two-level room (a very unique floor plan) was equipped with a full kitchen, hardwood floors, downstairs living room & bath, upstairs bedroom & bath. The Inn's location is absolutely incredible. It's at the corner of Church & Market, within walking distance to pretty much everything. We highly recommend the Church Street Inn. We will consider this our first choice of hotel for all return trips to Charleston!
