“Great local food...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

First time dining at this establishment. Business dinner, so no monetary restrictions. Food was pretty good. Very fresh, flavorful and creative. The food was not seasoned, which is nice, for a change, but to the point of being a little bland. Strip steak was perfectly cooked, but had very little flavor, maybe because it was Wagyu beef, which tends to be some what flavorless, albeit very tender. Portions were very small, but that is quite refreshing with the super sized eating habits of many Americans.
Service was spotty given the restaurant was not very busy. Cocktails were very good, however it took forever to get them after ordering.
Would definately return and try something more interesting than the steak.

“Wonderful dinner and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

The five of us at our table shared our various appetizers and entrees, and everything was wonderful! The portions were generous and cooked just right! Our server was there right when we needed her! Very nice dinner!

“Great fried oysters with bread and butter pickles!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We had a terrific variety of dishes but the fried oysters were just plain amazing. They were served piping hot with a great sauce topped with bread and butter pickles. A great twist. The lamb sausage was wonderful as was the bee liner ( fish). Service was very good. We all had fun and every dish was hot and timely. I'd go back in a flash!

“A fresh look at southern fare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2014

Great goggly goop I've NEVER had Tuna like this! Order the Yellow Fin Tuna Crudo...PERIOD! It was like make up sex on a plate. A PERFECT blend of Cucumber, Chili, Lime, Avocado, Peanuts and Crispy Rice that will awaken every taste bud in your mouth. Then on to the East Coast Halibut on a warm tasty bed of Summer Succotash of Smoked Pork, Hominy and Field Peas, Sweet Pepper Vinaigrette...my mouth is watering just describing it now. It was a fish feast fit for a queen.
Happy anniversary Janet, you deserve the best and The Grocery is JUST that.

“Fresh and Interesting Dinner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

If you are a "foody", you'll love this restaurant. It was wasted on me because I am on a very strick diet. No fault on their part. The service was ok and the food I had was very fresh. The atmosphere was funky but noisy. We had several bachelor/bachelorette parties going on around us which were loud.
