“Absolutely wonderful. The best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2004

We have visited Charleton SC many times and this is by far the best hotel we have ever experienced. You will not be disappointed.

You are greeted by a friendly valet and by the time you arrive at checkout they are calling you by your name!!

During your checkout you can enjoy complimentary champagne. The rooms are virtually sound proof. Breakfast is delivered to your room each day if you choose. Unlimited coffee is located outside your room. You can relax wih tea each day topped by a wine and cheese for the afternoon and cookies and milk at bedtime and let me tell you... all are wonderful. You receive a nightly turn down with robes and pralines. Go ahead and indulge....choose the pillow of your dream each night. It will be delivered to your room within minutes.

The courtyard is beautiful and extremely private. The hotel also has two other terraces which are equally as nice. While you are located in the midst of all the action you never hear any of the hustle and bustle of the city.

The staff is most knowledgable and helpful. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic district yet you will think you are located on a private street off the beaten path.

The hotel has a wonderful restaurant, Tristans, which is very pricey yet worth every dime. This hotel is one of Charleston's best kept secrets. I will definitely visit Charleston again and stay at this hotel. Additionally, all business trips to Charleston will include a visit to the French Quarter Inn!!

The staff is surpassed by none. From room service, to housekeeping everyone is most professional and is interested in you and your Charleston stay!!!

This is the ultimate place to be during your Charleston stay.

From our check-in at 4 AM due to a plane mix up until we left a week later, it was a great hotel with Champagne at check-in, breakfat in your room, wine & cheese at 5 Pm and cold drinks all day.

We recently celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Charleston, SC. Based upon the reviews at tripadvisor, we selected the French Quarter Inn. It was a lovely hotel and in a perfect location. The open-air market is right across the street and we were able to walk everywhere in the Historic District. The room was comfortable and we had a terrace which enabled us to sit outside and listen to some of the outdoor musicians. Our only "disappointments" were hotel robes (instead of a kimono) and that you had to go to the registration area after 9 pm for the cookies and milk. Very minor details which certainly would not keep us from returning there.

My husband and I were thrilled with our stay at this hotel. We always prefer smaller hotels where one can experience a calmer atmosphere, and this one not only fit the bill, but offered amenities such as the champagne upon arrival, the 24/7 coffee/tea service, very nice continental breakfast (if you wanted a full breakfast you would have to go elsewhere, but if you're content with croissants and fresh fruit on the patio/terrace, this was delightful), assorted flavored iced teas in the afternoon, lovely wine & cheeses/grapes late afternoon, and delicious, fresh baked (warm from the oven!) cookies & milk late at night. Only a few rooms offered balconies, but I noticed that these would be a rarity at any of the hotels in the market area. It also did not have a pool, but again, you'll find that almost none of the hotels within the market area have room for one. I was impressed with the cleanliness (I noticed a maid cleaning the bathroom floor one morning on her hands and knees using a spray bottle to do so), and appreciated the nightly bed turndown and replenishing of towels (and there were plenty of towels at all times). If you wanted privacy, you had it. If you wanted to socialize, there were cozy seating arrangements throughout the first floor area. I loved the fact that all I had to do was walk around the corner and there was the market place (in my opinion an upscale flea market), and a few blocks over were brand name stores, shopping, residential neighborhoods to appreciate, or the harbor to enjoy. Charleston is a beautiful city to visit, and this hotel would only accentuate your stay.
