The Hotel is centrally located to everything in downtown Charleston. You can walk to everything on Meeting Street, King Street or to the harbor. If you need your car; valet service is prompt and they even remember your name. $19.00 a day for parking with valet service is not bad. Restaurants and shopping; including a bookstore are all contained under one roof. The complementary shoe shine is a plus. Indoor swimming pool and spa is a plus also.

Any kind of dining & drinking is a leisurely walk along Charleston's historic streetscapes. Follow that up with a good night sleep in one of Charleson Place's cushy beds.

this hotel is 1st class all the way, the room was great, the service was great, the decor and cleanliness was perfect. i have been to a lot of hotels and inns in charleston..my fav by far was here.. the rest. charleston grill inside was great too.. so good and the service was personal but fun and great foos and wine.. i dont know what people complain about.. i think those are the types that will never be happy and complain because the rug was turned a little to the left.. and yes its expensive all of it.. but i think we all know that going in there.. go there and enjoy it its great..unless your an annoying type A, then stay away so i can have fun.

We spent 4 nights at the Charleston Place Hotel and loved everything about it. The staff was wonderful and the room was very nice. our only complaint was the bed was too soft, but we were told that this could have been resolved during our stay if we had made it known. Definitely would recommend this hotel as well as the fine restaurant Charleston Grill. Best meal we have ever had and we judge our meals by Commander's Palace and other top notch restaurants.

I had mentioned that my husband and I were celebrating a belated wedding anniversary and about an hour after check in, we were brought a cake and champagne. Very nice surprise.

Definitely would stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

Everything you would expect in a hotel that bils itself out as this caliber. Staff was excellent, room was elegant, etc. Need extra towels? Someone will be knocking at your door within moments. A dinner recommendation? The perfect place will be recommended and the dinner reservation made. Graceful, southern charm. The hotel is a little large, but the touch is very personal. The location is perfect. Everything Charleston has to offer is steps away. If you want a honeymoon or romantic weekend away, the risk of a mishap here is miniscule. This place has hospitality down to a science. My only, only very slight criticism (and take this with a grain of salt because the place is very nearly perfect) is that I took advantage of the spa and purchased a massage. Frankly, the massage was only so, so. Could have just been a fluke. It was still incredibly relaxing and the spa experience itself was heavenly.

Love this hotel. Will absolutely insist on staying here again when I return to Charleston. This hotel has all the southern charm and elegance without the inconsistency of its smaller boutique rivals.

My friend recommended this hotel to me as the best in Charleston. My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights. In terms of the location & service, this was indeed the best.

Location: It is located on the Meeting St. and is walking distance to almost all major restaurants. We rented a car for our entire stay. Would recommend this way if you are planning to go to the plantations & beaches. Otherwise, the local buses will be enough to take you around the historic district, churches, and other major attractions. There are also tons of shops around the hotel, including a dozen of them inside. A big supermarket is about 10 min walk from the hotel, and across the street, there are small coffee shops, candy stores, galleries, etc.

Service: The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The concierge was the best I've ever experienced. The town was getting very crowded on Jul 3rd and 4th, so the concierge has kindly offered to make reservations for us at some good restaurants for dinner.

Room: above average, but not outstanding. The wallpaper was a little old, and as many people have mentioned, the TV was a 29" CRT. Other than these, the room was quite clean, and the bathroom was all marble.

Overall, we had a great time. We loved the Charleston Place and would certainly love to stay here again if we come back to Charleston.
