My husband and two kids and I just returned from a 3-night stay at this hotel. It was a very pleasant experience - ample, free parking, great location (less than 5-minute ride over the bridge to all of the major sites and good restaurants), comfortable beds, ample room. (We highly recommend a GPS for getting around if you're not familiar with the area!) The staff was very pleasant and with our AAA discount, the 2-bdrm suite was quite reasonable and spacious ($197 per night). Our room was surface clean, but not spotless, as it showed a little wear and tear. The kitchen had enough plates, bowls and utensils for a single meal for 4 people, and included a stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, disposal, dishwasher, full fridge and freezer. The fireplace in the room did not work and our "view," since we were tucked in a quiet corner on the 3rd floor, was of a storage trailer (not a pretty sight) and hotel next door. We had requested extra towels and a baby crib, but none of those were in the room when we got there. We had brought our own packnplay in case we needed it, so we never asked about those.
One thing that is very nice about this hotel is that they have a full, hot breakfast buffet each morning included in your room fee. Here's what we were offered: Tues: breakfast potatoes (YUM!), eggs, sausage, tortillas and peppers/salsa to make your own breakfast burrito if you wanted. Wed: pancakes, sausage, bacon and eggs. Thurs: corned beef hash, eggs, grits and sausage. Each morning also included on the bar: choice of 3 cereals (fruit loops, raisin bran and corn flakes), donuts, muffins, fruit, coffee, juices, milk, yogurt, oatmeal. You could make your own Belgium waffles each morning, too!
Each evening, M-Thurs, they also offer a mini-meal/appetizers. While we were there they had a mexican night; pizza hot pockets with chips and salsa, cheese and crackers and deli meats (no bread) and wine; and a cookout one night with hot dogs/hamburgers, beans, chips and chocolate chip cookies. Also had sodas, coffees, teas and hot chocolate each night.
You can also get a free USA Today and local paper each day. If you need a reasonably priced place with room to spread out for a short stay, I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
