“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Just got back from an outstanding two nights at SpringHill Suites. The staff was gracious and helpful, the breakfast quite good, the harbor view excellent and the price was quite reasonable for Charleston. By far the best feature of this hotel was the shuttle to and from downtown Charleston. We will definitely be staying here again.

Room Tip: "Try to get one of the corner rooms facing Charleston Harbor

I have stayed at both SpringHill Suites in the Charleston area and both are good.
This location is much closer to downtown and better food that the location in N. Charleston.
You are close to the water and some room do have a nice view of the harbor.
The free breakfast is nice and they keep the area clean and stocked.

We stayed 5 nights in July on a baseball trip. The front desk was extemely nice and helpful. The room was clean and I asked for a balcony and got a great view of the water. We were with a group of baseball players and the hotel staff was nice to them and not strict on the pool hours. They also had pool towels. Breakfast was fine. The laundry mat was convenient and almost always available. Also, the shuttle to downtown was a nice added service. My only complaint was that they put an additional hold on my credit card of about $1000 and front staff said that it would drop off after a few days. I had to move some money around to cover, but it worked out. I just had never had a hotel do that before.

Stayed here for 3nites to do some sightseeing in the Charleston area. The hotel is a few miles from downtown but it sits next to a marina which offers a nice view. Place is very clean. The front desk staff aims to please so ask if you have any questions. Pool and whirlpool are in great shape. There are really no restaurants within walking distance so a car is a must. They have a free shuttle that runs downtown and several times each evening. The fitness room is small and the equipment really needs an upgrade. The elevators take FOREVER so you might want to get a low floor and use the stairs. All in all, a nice hotel - very reasonably priced.

Just got back and can't say enough great things about our stay. We had four adults and 1 child in a 2 bed deluxe room. Our room was clean and comfortable. The fridge and microwave provided enough space for us to store a few items and save a little money on food while we were there. This hotel is not far from the beach and the free shuttle in the evening was absolutely perfect for us. I can't say enough good things about the staff. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was wonderful. The evening shuttle driver even provided us with his cell phone in the event it rained and we wished to return early. Another bonus for us was the free breakfast. It included cereal, eggs, biscuits, yogurt, pastries and even had a waffle maker. Again, the attendant was terrific. The breakfast area was clean and the food provided another bonus since it allowed us to relax and fill up before heading out for the day. I would def. stay here again!

My wife and I booked this back before Marriott re-categorized their hotels when this was a 4, so we got the room for free with an annual free night through Marriott Rewards. When the rooms free its hard to expect too much, but for a night it was perfect for us. While not in the historic district, there was a shuttle running every 30 minutes from 5pm to 11pm to and from the hotel. We wanted to go earlier so the front desk called us a cab, with a negotiated rate of $10 so it saved us a few bucks, make sure to talk to them to get that rate.

Anyways, the room was clean, the staff was very friendly, we got an early check in and late check out, nothing at all to complain about. We would stay again, but would price check with stuff across the bridge too.

The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The evening shuttle service to downtown was very nice. Overall good stay. I gave 4 stars only because the furniture is kind of old.
