“Lots of Fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

My grown daughters and I took the 10pm tour and it was really fun! We were all very interested in the Historical aspect and it was a little different than we expected but still really informative and entertaining. Tricia's knowlegde of local lore gave us an interesting aspect of Charleston and it's ghosts and she was a great tourguide! One wierd thing that happened was that my daughter's fancy, high-tech 35mm camera would not snap pictures aimed at any graveyards, regardless of the settings she used, but would immediatly work perfect if aimed at anything else, even a rose bush inside the cemetery gates! (She never had any problems with the camera before or since then!) Weird!! This tour is a great way to spend an evening!

“A bit disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We were looking forward to this ghost tour, but were disappointed to see that there were so many competing groups that our tour guide seemed a bit distracted. We started a conversation at one of the graveyards, were interrupted by a gardener with a very loud leaf blower working in the graveyard (at 8:30 PM on a Friday?), so we ended up starting at the end of the tour first, which is fine, but we never went back to the first graveyard! Also, rather than hearing more stories and lore about the ghosts, we were shown multiple pictures of ghosts that were taken by previous attendees. Kind of felt like over marketing of the tour, which built up our expectations to see something. Discussion at the Mill Hotel was great, despite the distraction of the overwhelmingly noisy kid in the lobby. Tricia is a good story teller, but I felt overall it was too busy around us, too many distractions, which detracted from the overall experience. Maybe it was an off day.

We would like to apologize about your tour. Friday and Saturday nights are expected to be busy and the guide tries to keep the group out of the crowds if possible. That night was a very interrupted tour and we cannot stop the landscaper from doing his work but also know it was quite late for that to happen. Your guide did everything they could do to keep the group in a "less crowded" area. However, with the competition sending out over 15 groups at one time and the city restricting tours in certain areas, this is to be expected. We cannot control the decibel level of other guides as well, as that is an act of consideration. Your guide was considerate of all other people out there and tried to give you a grand experience under the circumstances.
We had a group from your same tour call us the next day to tell us that Tricia gave a great tour and they enjoyed it. They wanted her not to worry about all of the goings on as they knew she was upset about it and felt the need to call and say something.
If you would like you may come again for free with another guide if they are available.

If you like to come again you may free of charge and go with another guide if ava call thank you for saying Tricia is a great story teller. She was very upset after that tour because she knew that the "leaf blower" upset a lot of other tour groups out there!

“We will do this again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

A Ghost Walk was something we have never considered in all of our travels. But, Charleston is so old and steeped in rich history that it seems to be a "must do". After reading the reviews about Tricia we called her and were not disappointed. We met her at 10:00 on July 16th in front of Tommy Condon's. Our group of about 15 was welcome to use the restroom facilities in the restaurant before we left. Then we spent a completely engaging 90 minutes listening to her tell stories that incorporated history and her own life. She retells a story in Gullah at one point. My husband is a scientist, therefore completely skeptical, but he enjoyed Tricia's stories and the history as much as I did. We ended in the lobby of the Mills Hotel where there have been many Robert E. Lee spirit sightings. It was a great evening and my husband and I would do it again. She was quite considerate of other people and was careful to not block the sidewalk with our group, nor did we go into the cemetery and walk on graves like many of the other groups. I appreciated her thoughtfulness and respect.

Tricia would like to let you know she is so happy your husband enjoyed her tour! We are happy both of you enjoyed the stories. Scientists are a hard group to entertain on a Ghost walk and we are thankful that Tricia could captivate Y'all. Come on our History walk next time and enjoy the residential area with Tricia as she grew up on the very streets you will tour! Thank you for the nice review and do call us to say hello the next time you visit!

“Do Tour at least once.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Went on our tour Friday, July 5th at 8:00 p.m. Tricia was our tour guide and she was terrific. Very knowledgeable about the history of Charleston. Loved her accent and attitude. Also enjoyed the Gullah stories. Next time, and there will be a next time, I would do the 10:00 p.m. so we are not hurried. Tried to eat dinner afterwards, and had a hard time getting in. Thanks Tricia!!

Thank you for such a nice review about Tricia! The week of July 4th is always busy and we are happy you did get seated! We are happy you had a lot of fun and are going to come back. Let us know you are a repeat customer and we will change your tour so that you won't hear the same thing twice, well maybe 2 stories might be repeated as they are really good ones!

“History! Stories!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

We had a terrific 90 minutes with Tricia. ( I read the other recommendations, before booking. ) She is a great story teller with information on specific areas like cemeteries, churches, and residential building. My husband and my two teenage sons also enjoyed it. We are big into watching Ghost Hunters on SyFy, and so wanted to hear some fun stories and to also see some of the haunted spots in historic Charleston. We spent the morning touring the Yorktown, and Laffey at Patriots Point. Of course I'm going to peruse my photos but I'm pretty conservative with this all. About 17 years ago I did a ghost walk in Edinburgh Scotland, and it was so much fun. This was just as promising and Tricia delivered. As it turned out, other people cancelled their reservations and we ended up being the only ones. Afterwards at her suggestion we went in to Tommy Condon's and listened to Irish music. Thanks Tricia!!
