Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

“Best Caesar Salad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in for a late lunch and had a wonderful meal. Starting with some Gulf Coast and BC oysters, we moved on to an outstanding Caesar Salad with Tuna the fish taco and salmon salad both were first rate. Choice of fish and oysters change based on availability. Lively space in the historic district.

“Good atmosphere, cool venue, delicious seafood!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

My husband and I went here with two friends who live part time in Charleston. We would highly recommend a visit. We all had a variety of fresh oysters, calamari with bacon and garlic aoili, fried green tomatoes and peel & eat scampi. All delicious and most worthy seafood. Service was friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Very cool space and vibe to match. Sit at a table or sit at the bar. You can't go wrong. We'll be back.

“Yum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

This restaurant offered at least five kinds of fresh fish plus at least five ways of having it cooked. My husband chose blackened salmon and I chose broiled salmon. The salmon was Wild Alaskan Salmon and was outstanding. My dish came with quinoa with vegetables. My husband substituted rice and vegetables for whatever came with the .

My first impression of our meal when it arrived was that it was small. But in retrospect, it was just the right amount. We didn't feel overly full. I think the serving dish was overly big.

We had just enough room to enjoy dessert at one of the food trucks that was parked across from the Marion Hotel. The best of two different worlds.

“Great atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We had a good dinner here and really good drinks. We walked in without a reservation, and ended up having to wait only 20-30 minutes, which I thought wasn't bad. We ended up spending several hours here and never felt rushed to go. We all had fish (different preparations), and oysters to start. Meals were pretty good and the restaurant is well decorated with an interesting history. Our service was pretty good and the restaurant seemed to remain crowded throughout the night-- there were a few parties who had just gotten there when we left, and it seemed fairly late (9:30 or 10ish). The espresso martini was particularly delicious!

“!Best hush puppies in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We stumbled onto Amen Street when we were tired and need a fast lunch. The fried green tomato sandwich was perfectly seasoned and the roll itself was excellent. But it is the order of hush puppies I'll remember - a little spicy (in a very good way), hot and delicious! Wish I could have brought some home to Philadelphia.
