Myself and my family had a lovely day in Middleton but through no fault of anyones we ended up visiting in Thanksgiving. Which was lovely because it was open and the one thing on my to do list while being here was visit a plantation of sorts. While grateful it was even open on thanksgiving I wish the complimentary tours had been running also on that day purely because as we walked round the stable yard some of the parts to see had no info plaques to read. I'm sure any other day of the year theres plenty of people to give info understandably on a national holiday there is less so. I saw a sign saying there was a tour at 12:30 of the breeds in the stables as we were doing the tour of the house at time i couldn't say whether this tour was on but maybe if it was we could have found out more info.
We went on the carriage ride and had Bob as our guide he was extremely informative .. Couldn't believe how he retains so much information!
All in all it was a good day .. Also the price was reduced for the main entrance ticket as the complimentary tours weren't on that day.
