4 Unity Alley was a wonderful surprise! We spent 3 nights there while
in Charleston and loved every minute. The home is beautiful--very modern. but decorated exquisitely. Breakfast was delicious and bountiful (fruit and main course every day).
Previous posts have mentioned that the staff was somewhat reserved. We found our hostess to be very outgoing and informative simply exuding with southern hospitality.
There are 4 rooms; we occupied a jr suite with a queen bed with separate living room area. The bathroom was huge--there were two pieces of furniture, a standing shelf as well as a small table- along with a jacuzzi tub!
The bed was a bit firm, but wonderful for my taste. Next door there was a mirrored room, except for the day bed in the sitting area. Everything was quality right down to the LCD TVs. A third room in the main house was somewhat smaller, but did have a king bed.
Lastly, the suite complete with king bed, fireplace( don't know if it works) and living room was to die for. (I loved my room until I saw this one!). All in all, each room was lovely.
Specific pluses: while on a quiet street (next door to McCrady's restaurant), all the very best restaurants are within walking distance. e.g. Magnolias, High Cotton, SNOB etc. There is on site parking (our deal maker), it is a bit of a squeeze, although there was a Ford 350 pick up in the garage and there wasn't a scratch on it. We had no problems manuevering our Saturn
One odd thing, there were no bathroom amenites other than two very small slivers of soap. Since I had left my shampoo home, I was a bit disappointed in this.
All in all it was a wonderful experience, but alas, the B & B is for sale, so hopefully, the service and ambiance won't change if and when the property is sold.
I would recommend this B & B very highly and would stay here again when we return to Charleston..
