Our stay at the Vendue Inn was wonderful. The entire staff was nothing short of fabulous. From the front desk staff attendee (Matt) to the room service staff (Alex) each person was friendly, caring and continued to show effort to cause our stay more enjoyable. Dinner at the Library restaurant was by far one of the best steak dinners for myself, however my husband was not to pleased his dinner (the ribeye). The only, and I mean only, complaint we have is that the restaurant charged us $6.00 (per glass) for our water. Granted my husband had the sparkling and I had the distilled, however not once were we ever told the price of EACH refill of our glass. Stick with the Ice Tea - it is cheaper, excellent tasting and they don't charge you for a refill. P.S. we also had an interior room and were very pleased with the room, bathroom and amenites. Definitely would come again (just won't order the sparkling or distilled water).

Our Stay at the Vendue Inn was one of the most if not the most enjoyable stays I have ever experienced. I have traveled the world almost continuously since the mid 1950's. I can say that the experience was made so grand by the people who care for your needs at the Inn. We ate primarily in the Library, One of the intimate dining areas at the Vendue Inn. The service people in the restruants were outstanding they got to know you and even anticipated your particular needs. Everyone from the managers to the maintenance folks would stop and talk about the history of the area and The hotel in particular. Probably the most impressive from a guest point of view is the Concierge, Mr.Glenn Tucker. He is very conscious of the wants and needs of the guest. Mr Tucker whose father was the Commandant of the Citadel. This contributed to Mr. Tucker great quantity of historical knowledge which he would share with the guests. At time I sat in his area taking refreshment and sat in with small divergent groups of guests as he regaled us with History and anecdotes about the low country. When the time comes for me to return to Charleston I will only stay at the Vendue Inn.

This was our 21st anniversary and first trip to Charleston. We found The Vendue Inn to be a real Jewel in this cities crown. We had booked 3 nights at The Vendue, leaving the city for 2 and then returning for 2 more nights, which we had left open. After our seeing our room and the service from the time we arrived, we booked our last 2 nights there, we were lucky enough to get a room. This Inn is great for location in the historic district and the rooms are very nice, but for us, what made it the most pleasureable was the staff. From the time we arrived and were greeted ,to the check out, the breakfast room, bicycle offering, dinner bookings and everything in between, the staff was exceptional. will return!

We stayed at the Vendue Inn for 4 nights/5 days over Columbus Day weekend. The Inn was very clean as was our room. The full breakfast in the morning, manager's reception in the afternoon and cookies and milk at 9PM sets this Inn apart from your ordinary hotel stays and the location was perfect for walking, biking, etc.. The staff couldn't be more personable. The Inn's general manager, Suzie Ritter, was a delight to chat with and we could tell she set the tone for the Inn. If you have any questions about the history of the area of Charleston, just stop at the conceirage's desk and talk to Glenn Tucker. He has so much knowledge and shares it readily (even to us northern Yankees!!!!). The housekeeping staff, bell hops and restaurant staff were very accomodating. The rooftop restauant's food was good as was the view of Charleston from the top. We had a very relaxing and rejuvenating weekend and will DEFINATELY be staying at the Vendue Inn during our next trip to Charleston. It was just superb!!! Debi and Keith Yorke Sandwich MA
