“Just okay”

Lodge Alley Inn

May 4, 2008

I stayed at Lodge Alley Inn for a girls trip. Loved the location. It was within walking distance of many historical attractions and great restaurants. We only used our car when we took a drive out to the beach and out to tour a plantation.

The room was just okay but was a little on the small side. The only thing that didn't work well was that we had trouble flushing the toilet. Also, if you are looking for someplace quiet, this is not the place to stay. There is some nightlife in the area so expect noise until the bars close.

I probably won't stay here on my next trip to Charleston but it wasn't horrible.

“Love the LAI and Charleston”

First let me say my wife and I love Charleston. We are also owners of the Bluegreen Vacation Club the company that runs the Lodge Alley Inn. We stayed in Room 303-a suite or studio or whatever you want to call it, and we loved it! The room was plenty big enough for the 2 of us plus our 10 month old baby girl. The room was beautifully decorated and the old brick walls were really nice. We had a small balcony which overlooked the courtyard and the steeple of St. Phillips Church. The staff was very helpful, housekeeping quickly brought some extra towels when needed, and a crib for our little girl. The bellhops were most helpful in advice for cheaper places to eat. (some of the places the concereige recommends were too expensive!) All in all we loved the LAI and cannot wait to go back.

“Over Rated and Maintenance Issues”

We stayed in room 309 and had a list of issues almost immediately that include mildewed shower curtain, shower head that sprayed all over the wall, ceiling, and over the top of the curtain rod; dirty and chipped dishes; blown light bulbs; and roaches crawling on the bed and the room that the front desk fondly called palmetto bugs. They wanted to come in and fumigate and we refused and insisted on moving to another room. In our opinion it is over rated. There are definitely some maintenance issues. The standard picture shown gives the impression that it a front view and it is actually a view from the garden area. The beds are comfortable. The location is central to touring historic Charleston. I just hope we don't have any of these bugs in our luggage when we leave.

We have recently stayed at the Lodge Alley Suites Charleston, which we booked though our timeshare company. We arrived before the check in time, & therefore didn't expect our room to be ready, But our suit cases were looked after while we went for a look around. The accommodation couldn't have been in a better location for the city attractions. Everything was in walking distance. Upon returning to the Lodge, check in was very quick and our cases had already been taken to the room.
The apartment was very clean and well equiped. Our only complaint was that we were at the back of the building and looked out onto a brick wall. We couldn't even tell what the weather was like from the window. We had a great stay. The restaurants all around us were fantastic, especially High Cotton & POSH. one next door the other across the road

“Amazing stay”

My husband and I stayed at Lodge Alley Inn in Charleston on our Honeymoon and it couldn't have been better. Lodge Alley is owned by a company called Blue Green and my aunt is a owner with them. So we were able to stay here on her points. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I want to go back again! The rooms were clean and we had a great view of St. Phillips church from our balcony and also of the court yard below. Also, it is in a GREAT location. we had our car parked when we got there and only needed to use it once during our entire stay when we went to Sullivan's Island. You can walk to anywhere you would want to go from Lodge Alley.
