“A woman ahead of her time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

Something for everyone here. wonderful history from the early 1800s, both high society and slave life. Beautiful and unique architecture and design. Great stories of how the woman of the house maintained her independence and made her mark on society. If you do one house tour, this is the one.

“Authentic house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We loved this house with it's trompe l'oeil cornicing and doors. The furniture was a little sparse but all of the correct era. Coming from the UK we are a bit used to seeing 19th Century fireplaces etc, but this house is well-preserved and has a lovely family history.
