“Good Things Do Come in Small Packages!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

This gem is truly in the heart of Charleston. Everything is sooooo close that I don't believe we could have done better. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness is important to me and I had no complaints. The beds were so comfortable. Then there's the complimentary wine and cheese for guests from 4 to 5 pm (lemonade if you don't want wine) . And for those with a sweet tooth...cookies or biscotti with coffee, tea, or lemonade always seemed to be available in the lobby. BUT the best part of our stay was the complimentary breakfast. This in my opinion sets the bar for "Continental" breakfasts. Of course they had hot/cold cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, fresh pastries, bagels, and different varieties of sliced breads. The coffee was very good. My FAVORITE part was the hot surprise waiting in the warmers each morning...egg dishes, quiche, french toast with berries...So delicious and satisfying that we never had lunch ...only dinner. SANDY you out did yourself each day. Cynthia you made us feel at home. A boutique hotel it is...quaint. Truth be told ...my mom stayed here a year ago and had a positive experience which is why I came this July. I enjoyed it and now its your turn.

From the valet, to check-in, to housekeeping.... Such a wonderful experience, As a newcomer to Charleston, Southern Hospitality was certainly impressive. A special thank you to Andrew for upgrading us and making our wedding site visit an impressional one, We look forward to our honeymoon in hopefully the same room, 220, and thank everyone for going the extra mile. Last but not least, thank you to the sweet sweet lady who organizes the continental breakfast. Many thanks!!!!!! John & Kate

My husband and I stayed her for a night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was beautiful and welcoming. The service was fantastic. They have a wine welcome reception from 4-5pm every afternoon with wine and cheese on the 4th floor terrace that's heavenly. They also offer a free breakfast on the terrace which is a perfect way to start the day over looking downtown Charleston. We will stay here again and would highly recommend it.

We waited FOREVER in the lobby for our room to be ready (almost two hours) while several other guests came and got checked in before us for no apparent reason. We're not impatient people and have no problem hanging out normally, but we got there around check-in time and still weren't served for almost two hours. The room was also hot and damp with the summertime humidity. However, the location was really great and convenient to walk to downtown Charleston. Also the bathroom was T I N Y. And the walls were so thin we heard the people above us DOING THE CHARLESTON all morning if you catch my drift. It was hilarious but just an FYI.

I am very disappointed to hear of your concerns with a delayed check in process on your previous stay back in September of 2013. We take great pride in delivering some of the finest guest service including an expedite check in even for those early arrivals. We even go to the lengths of recording our guest's cell phone numbers so that if their assigned room should not be available at the time of their arrival they may still wonder nearby in the historic district or assist them with lunch suggestions until their room is available and notified with a phone or text message. We do apologize for any inconvenience on that particular day of your arrival. We hope that you will give us the opportunity in the future to provide you with a most accommodating experience and enjoyable stay.

We took our Mom's ( in their 80's) to Charleston for two nights and this was a nice location to be in- close to transportation and the market, restaurants. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. I missed the memo on the afternoon wine and cheese...
Accommodations were commendable and room quiet on 4th floor facing the sister building.Would stay again.

This is the first time we have stayed here and we were more than pleased. We travel to Charleston often to visit our daughter who works for The River Dogs. We have always stayed at one of the large chain hotels downtown. This place was "Top Notch" from the time we checked in with ice water, lemonade and snacks. The free wine and cheese hour every day as well as a great continental breakfast each morning on the deck over looking downtown and what I liked as a late sleeper is there was still food at 10:00. They supplied umbrellas for the afternoon rain showers we had and he even got at 12 noon check out just for the asking. All the staff was very friendly and will to assist with any request. Bye Bye chain hotels! Hello Andrew Pinckney Inn!!!!

Room Tip: Again, this was our first visit and we had a great room. There web site is very good...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It had a nice old style feel with modern amenities (elevator, WIFI, TV, etc.) It especially helped to have valet parking since parking downtown is quite expensive. The king size bed was certainly nice; the room was small but worked well for me and my wife.

The continental breakfast on the rooftop was certainly a bonus with some great views. All in all, we were wanting a one-night hotel that was high class for our stay in Charleston. This hotel met our satisfaction for that trip.
