“Good choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We recently took a trip to Charleston and stayed at the Andrew Pinckney. The staff was exceptional! The recommendations and service made our stay totally enjoyable.
The historic Inn was walking distance to most everything. We stayed in the building with the elevator which is more updated. Ask for an outside view and a top floor since the street noise in the morning can infiltrate. Breakfast on the rooftop was a real treat. More than the usual continental with biscuits & gravy, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts and assorted pastries. Cookies, biscotti, lemonade & coffee were available in the lobby. We will be back!

Room Tip: Select the building with the elevator and request a top floor due to street noise.

Thank you for taking the time to post comments of your recent stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn. As you mentioned our central location makes it most convenient to enjoy all that the Historic District has to offer our visitors including our wonderful Rooftop Terrace with views of the Market and a wonderful breakfast. Please keep us in mind when traveling to Charleston in the future.

I just recently returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. It was a great little hotel even though the room was small (I knew this when I booked the room but for the price, I was ok with it). Breakfast was above your standard "free" breakfast with gravy and biscuits, fruit, ceral and pastries each morning. I had an interior room and heard NO noise which is unusual in the historic district. The hotel was within walking distance to everything in the HD. Check in was a breeze. Valet was awesome. The room was spotless and the price couldn't be beat. I would consider staying here again on my next trip to beautiful Charleston.

Room Tip: The interior rooms are small but very quiet!

Thank you for the kind words of your recent stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn. We are delighted to know how much you enjoyed your stay in one of our "Interior Queen" rooms. The interior rooms as you mentioned do offer a quieter respite from the possible sounds of an urban environment and are an excellent value choice. Thank you again for taking the time to post your comments. We hope that you will keep us in mind when visiting Charleston in the future.

We enjoyed 3 nights in late June at this charming historical hotel on a cozy street one block from the market. Walking distance to almost everything. Sandy the manager, all the desk clerks, the cleaning staff and the lovely lady supervising the breakfast terrace were all gracious, kind and helpful.

Our room, with high ceilings and plantation shutters (as well as a stable on the next block) made me forget I was in a hotel and imagine I was in Old Charleston. The 4th floor terrace was a terrific place to enjoy their well prepared breakfast. We celebrated happy hour there too. It has a terrific view.

Last but not least, the sheets are very soft, and the pillows luxurious. As for noise, I travel with a fan and never hear a thing. The rooms are different sizes, so check when you are making your reservations. This was a really memorable stay and I hope I can come back.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to street noise, get a room away from the street. A few rooms don't have o...

My husband and I booked 4 nights at the Inn and were very happy. From the time we checked in, Andrew was absolutely on top of it with recommendations, directions, booked reservations, etc. We were originally booked into room 103 and found it a little lacking because of street noise, noise from the room next door, stomping upstairs and hearing others at the ice machine right next to the room. We let Andrew know that we would like another room if possible and luckily they were able to move us for our second night without a problem whatsoever! They even moved our luggage for us while we were out sightseeing.

The rooftop area for breakfast was great, though it gets a little crowded, so you may not get a table.

I would definitely recommend this place! When we go back to Charleston, we will no doubt stay there again!

Room Tip: Try to request a room not on the first floor.

We stayed at AP's townhouse suite--perfect to share with family-more reasonable than two hotel rooms-staff was courteous and efficient. And perfect location to walk everywhere to get the feel of historic Charleston- Charming southern feel rather than your average run of the mill basic hotel room; I would definitely stay there again!

This was probably our 5th stay at the Inn and each time is totally delightful. Personable staff, clean rooms and reasonably priced, top off with a perfect location in the Historic Old Town. We highly recommend and will stay here again
