“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

I had a wonderful stay at the Andrew Pinckney Inn during a mother/daughter trip to Charleston. The hotel is in an ideal location, right in the center of the Historic District; even without a car, we were able to travel all around town without issue at all. We stayed in the yellow portion of the hotel and the room was a nice size and very clean. The only issue with the room was that the WiFi was very slow and almost unusable. It was free, which was a nice touch, but unfortunately it was difficult to use. There was also a business center available to guests, and that was a helpful alternative.

The free breakfast was nice, and the rooftop eating area was perfect for warm days. A few suggestions/recommendations of the front desk were not so helpful, but overall the hotel staff was friendly and attentive.

It was a clean hotel in an ideal location, and I would certainly consider staying there again.

“service makes up for the shortcomings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

I would stay at this hotel again. It is in a fantastic location and the service is phenomenal. It is a little tattered around the edges (window fixed with duct tape) and there was no closet in the room, just a rack.. It is an historical building with quirks and some exterior repairs are impossible to make without a lot of red tape and expense. The front desk personnel were incredibly helpful with every request. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had updated fixtures. The woman who serves in the breakfast area is an absolute gem and very charming. She grew up in Charleston and has plenty of stories to tell! She also is very attentive to her work. I'm not sure I would pay the full rate for the room, but I would pay the rate I got on expedia again.

“What a perfect choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

I picked this inn for our sisters' annual reunion this year. The location could not have been better, but there are other hotels within walking distance of the historic district. What set this hotel apart and miles above any we've stayed at is the service. From the moment we approached the hotel, we were met with the friendliest, most helpful employees, from the valets Carl, Keith and Drew, to the managers and front desk, Sandy, Eddie, Jeff and everyone in between. After our first night, we were moved to a fabulous townhouse with so much room, an outdoor patio on the second floor, 1 1/2 bathrooms, two televisions, etc. And the price is really terrific for the area, considering the pluses of this inn. A complimentary breakfast is on the roof top, and weather permitting, it's lovely. We were given great advice regarding places to eat and tours. T-Bonz was our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We loved this inn and could go on and on, about cleanliness, details like coffee and cookies in the lobby, enough towels for each of us, umbrellas for the one night it rained, such a relaxing, fun vacation! Thank you.

Room Tip: Room 216 is the townhouse room with the rooftop balcony with table and chairs!

“Best luxury hotel in historic area especially with corporate discount”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here with little notice after being forced to travel to Charleston from NYC when our cruise ship couldn't dock there due to damage by hurricane Sandy. We love Charleston, but it was supposed to be a port stop, and not a place to spend two unplanned nights until we could board our cruise ship.
We selected the Andrew Pinckney inn after considering several others. Since we were doing this with only a smart phone while we waited for our flights to Charleston.
The reviews of this hotel were great and combined that with the superb location and fantastic corporate rate, it was an easy choice. Upon arrival at the inn and after staying here, the only reason I'm not rating as a 5 is because it's in a historic buildings, there are creaky wood floors and the walls are thin. Otherwise it is everything you'd expect from a luxury 5-star boutique hotel-except the high price tag is not present here.
Service is excellent and love the homemade cookies in the afternoon.

“2 days in Charleston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

The helpfulness of the reception staff enabled us to make the very most of our brief stay in Charleston. Within 30 minutes of our arrival we were on a 90 minute sightseeing tour arranged by the hotel and a reservation had been made for our evening meal at a lovely local restaurant, prepared to cater for our vegetarian needs.Nothing was too much bother for the staff here and every question was given a very informed response.
The location of the hotel was ideal for visiting most of the main attractions on foot.Valet parking was so welcome after a long tiring journey and breakfast on a 4th floor terrace was included in the price.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated on 2 sides of the road- the quieter side being the side of the main reception...
