“Nice surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

My husband & I travel to Charleston frequently. One of the Best Spots in the world. We have walked past this Inn 100's of times but have never stayed there. It is now our "favorite" place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room (townhouse suite) was spacious and comfortable. Fantastic views from our private balcony and the terrace were we ate breakfast. The staff at breakfast was kind and very accommodating. Perfect location to all the best restaurants, shops, market & waterfront park. We will return very soon.

Room Tip: Our suite was on the front of the Inn...a little traffic noise..but was just fine later at night.

Three couples shared a private three bedroom area over the main lobby of the hotel. The
rooms had been restored and redecorated in an attractive decor. The only drawback was
no elevator to get to these three rooms that had a private entrance. The access was a
steep flight of stairs. The hotel provided a valet to carry luggage up to our room. There
was a fabulous welcome basket awaiting our arrival with outstanding Charleston food
items. The staff was friendly and helpful in helping our group attain the best buggy tour,
bike taxis and a private mini-van to take our party to the various locations that we wanted
to visit. The rooftop breakfast was across the street in the second building that the hotel
owns with an elevator, modern rooms and the breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the morning
view of Charleston residential living from the rooftop. We also could see the cruise ships
in the harbor arriving or departing. In conversation with some of the partakers of breakfast
one morning, it was apparent that these people were spending the night at the Pickney
before a cruise departure. We would stay again and use the building with the elevator.

Room Tip: Elevator is in the building across from the lobby. Parking is $15 a day and is a short walk. Would...

The Andrew Pinckney Inn is a must when you visit Charleston. This Bed and Breakfast made our trip to Charleston perfect. It is situated in the heart of the city, on a picturesque street, and within walking distance to all the beautiful attractions downtown. Upon check-inn we were greeted by Kristen and Ed at the front desk and within minutes they mapped out 4 beautiful days in Charleston. They assisted in planning our dining, sightseeing, shopping, and fun experiences in town. They not only suggested, but saved us lots of cash with hints, pointers, coupons, and tips on how to go about all the attractions. All this before we even got to our room.

And what a room and Hotel it was. It was the perfect size and decor for our needs...furnished with comfortable appointments and ammenities within the room...Each floor had a central sitting area with refreshments and reading material if needed. The rooftop breakfast each morning for all guests was special and got us through until dinnertime. The added bonus was the ability to dine alone or with fellow guests to compare experiences and share travel tips. Parking was free (courtesy of a coupon secured from tripadvisor), and a savings of $15 per day. We walked to all Restaurants downtown, as well as the waterfront where we took the ferry to Fort Sumpter, and the many nightspots the city had to offer. All services, including cookies and juice in the lobby all day and night were welcome by us,and the entire staff were the nicest people you can meet....

The Andrew Pinckney Inn was the definition of "southern hospitality"

Leona and Artie from Briarcliff Manor, New York

Room Tip: Room #208 with a King was right up our alley....

Andrew Pinckney Inn is a beautiful, well restored inn located in the heart of downtown Charleston. The location is perfect for downtown activities such as the market, carriage toys, dining, & shopping.
The beds are very comfortable & the rooms have larger flat panel tv's. The breakfast was great, & is probably the best hotel Bfast I have ever tried! The top floor has an outdoor terrace that is great to sit and relax. The only thing we didn't like about inn was that the hallways were very busy at night & we could hear people walking & talking regularly. Don't stay in a room near the elevator or stairs because you will hear some of the hallway noise. I also heard another guest make this same comment. Overall, I would definately stay at this place again, but would be more careful about the room I stay in.

My mother, sister, & I chose Andrew Pinckney Inn for our first trip to Charleston. We stayed in room 118 in the building housing the main lobby. The room had plenty of space for the 3 of us with very comfortable beds, 2 easy chairs, & a roomy bathroom. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace of the building across the street was just right for us. Coffee, hot tea, lemonade, & ice water is available in the main lobby throughout the day. The location of the inn is perfect for enjoying all of Charleston's sights & activities.
The thing that put Andrew Pinckney Inn over the top for us was the Guest Services staff. Kristen helped us by email with advance dinner reservations. Edward & Sandy were always available at the desk with recommendations, answers to our questions, help with reservations, an offer of umbrellas, & friendly greetings of "How was it?" after each of our outings. We felt as if we were visiting the home of friends who wanted to be sure we enjoyed their city. Sandy even sent us off with big hugs on our departure!
Return trips to Charleston or recommendations to friends will always include Andrew Pinckney Inn.

Gorgeous rooms with huge bathroom - head the balcony directly to Town Center/ old market pace.. All & everything available in the bathroom & the room that was perfectly & beautifully equipped. Office always aivailable & excellent service given all times. Perfectly suited place to go & visit the town either as pedestrian or starting for tours with the carriages. Breakfast is served in the 'addtional hotel' opposite the street on the balcony on the roof top. Great view in the morning & excellent breakfeast with all choices that the souther kitchen has to offer.
