“One of the nicest hotels I've stayed anywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, the grounds and the buildings. The service is top notch. Every person I encountered seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. Every cottage automatically comes with 2 bikes. If you don't want that and don't want to walk ask for a golf cart or they will come get you in a golf cart within minutes. If you don't have a car or even if you do and want to drive a Mercedes for a few hrs they have a selection you can reserve for up to 4hrs complimentary. Cottage suites have a sofa bed and cottage kings can fit a rollaway on request for a fee. For families there are 3 and 4 bedroom homes to rent. By end of 2016 there will be a hotel building added. Units near the construction site have been taken out of inventory to avoid interfering with your stay. Location is a short drive to Savannah or Hilton Head (about 30 minutes) and about 15minutes from the outlets if you want some good shopping.

This property is amazing! Sitting on 20,000 acres, it takes 10 minutes just to get to the main building after going through the gates! The landscaping is impeccable as is the staff, the food, and much more! I loved it so much that I booked another visit to come back in less than a week from my first stay. There are about 30 cottages which are one bedrooms with a screened in porch! The bathroom is AMAZING and the shower even comes equipped with a stream room (and eucalypts spray). I highly recommend visiting this property because I know my review and photos won't do it justice! So excited to return this Sunday!

My Wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here in October and could not have enjoyed it more. What a very romantic place to stay and a great place for golf, tennis, riding bikes and Spa. We really appreciated the good people that helped us enjoy our stay to include Gen and Dana at Spa, Mike tennis pro, Dan our caddy, Gavin at Canoe Club, Thomas and Andrew at River House, Tim the IT man, and especially Pat at the concierge desk. I would highly recommend this place for an anniversary.

The Inn at Palmetto Bluff is located in the center of a beautiful low country preserve. The bluff takes you away to a time long forgotten. The slow pace, the fresh air and the wildlife. Spectacular location for rejuvenating your mind, body and spirit. The Spa is the best and lunch at Buffalo's is great after a morning massage. Then take a walk on the grounds or have a bike ride. If you are staying here it's an experience like being in a old neighborhood of yesteryear. You need not take your car out again. There's a general store a few restaurants and all you need right there to enjoy and leave out the outside world...outside. If you are not staying there you can still visit for lunch or a spa treatment and have a mini vacation by spending the day or just a few hours. Take me with you! I'd return again and again.

This resort is absolutely breathtaking, peaceful and relaxing. When we arrived on property, we were greeted with a warm welcome from Chaibou, our favorite bell hop! We booked a lagoon view cottage and it was even more beautiful than the pictures! The room was nicely decorated, very large and comfortable. The two best things in the cottage room were the steam shower and the screened in back porch. We loved riding the bikes around the property, it was nice getting to enjoy life at a slower pace! While on the property we had a massage at the spa, enjoyed horse back riding and ate at almost all the restaurants! Our favorite activities were the horseback riding and the 'Sunset Sip, Sail and Sommelier'. Every night they have s'mores on the lawn of the main house, it was a nice way to get to meet and mingle with other guests! The resort has a variety of Mercedes on site that are available to take out for the day! This resort is truly a fairy tale, you feel like you're lost in a Nicolas Sparks book when you walk through the quaint town square and are greeted with a smile and a wave from every passerby. We will without a doubt be returning to the Inn at Palemetto Bluff!

This is such a beautiful place makes you feel like you're twelve years old again on your bike exploring, taking long nature walks ,swimming ,riding horses, playing tennis, boating, golf. There is no end of things to do. And people are so nice and you can leave your car running and your door open. It is heaven. No wonder the over 20000 acres of this place is starting to have people move down there. This place will be Nantucket of the south and is for all ages.

I was here a year and a half ago and, although I liked the property, I definitely had some issues with it and felt that it was overrated. It's gotten better since then. The house we got (#46) was fantastic with water views and things were easy enough to operate -- only had to call engineering twice to override the programming of the air conditioning system and to replace a nonworking clock radio and they came out quickly. The canoe house restaurant is greatly improved and the chef in the main restaurant worked with us to come up with things we and our kids could enjoy because the entree menu of the main restaurant at the inn still is a problem if you don't eat meat or shellfish. The pastry situation has improved and the breakfast spread has also improved; the Buffalo restaurant has excellent lunch items as well. (The dessert chef could still use some work on some of the sorbets though.) Service was really attentive -- people on staff were really looking after us and making sure that whatever was lost was found or replaced -- the bike shop is really good and it makes it really enjoyable for us and our kids that they have easy access to the bicycles and that they can be fixed and replaced so efficiently. We really enjoyed the pool area and found all the facilities there including the food to be good -- the bathrooms at the pool are probably some of the nicest hotel restroom facilities I've ever seen at a pool club. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the various wedding bands playing tunes on weekend evenings, and the kids have a good time with the s'mores. One suggestion -- they raised the height of the zip line in the park and you have to be close to 5"10 to reach it without someone helping you. This doesn't make it safer - my kids got on top of a bicycle to reach it without parents being around and bellyflopped onto the ground. Last time we'd been here we had 4 days out of 5 with rain in April; October is a better bet -- never saw a single cloud in the sky during our 3 days here. The spa cottage is just that and that's fine for now, but I'm sure it will be very nice when the new one is finished. We also liked the paint the pony (they didn't charge us for us because there was a mixup and we had to return 30 minutes later than the appointed time; that was really nice of them). The whole development is a really pretty area and the setting with the spanish moss hanging from the trees is just beautiful with the waterways in the background. What will happen here once they build the new hotel and more houses -- will there be traffic and will the food prices increase to include $17 bowls of oatmeal a la Montage'a Laguna Beach resort? JetBlue flights into Savannah just a 60 minute ride away has made this area much more affordable to fly into. If the property can retain its character we hope to keep enjoying it. Our kids just love having the experience of a house, bicycles and safe streets to play on with resort amenities such as food, boat and pony rides, etc. Nothing like it anywhere near New York City. Somebody build it, please.
