We've been to Blackberry Farm, Sea Island and several other high end resorts but never thought to visit Palmetto Bluff until Music to your Mouth. Boy were we surprised. The grounds are beautiful, cottage rooms were beyond my expectations and all the staff we encountered were spectacular.

We stayed in cottage 47 which was a bit out of the way, but quickly got into the spirit of the place as we rode bicycles everywhere. Most folks rode there beach cruisers around the property even late into the night. It's actually fun and made you feel you were back in time when the pace of life was slower. The only reason I do not give the Inn an excellent rating were problems with our hot water heater and a faulty wire on the gas fireplace ignition. The Inn @PB rightfully deserves its place on the best hotels of North America list, and I for one am already planning our next trip.

Don't miss the biscuit bar and lunch at Buffalo's. It is a great southern spread with very friendly and helpful waitstaff.

Room Tip: Stay in a cottage if you can. Those that overlook the river provide wonderful views to relax with a...

Just the drive on to the property lowers your blood pressure and starts to unwind all those tense and tired muscles. A gracious step back into true Southern Hospitality. Where you are treated as family with all the warmth and charm of a gracious smile. If you want a place to truly relax, this is it. In all our travels, never have we found a place quite like it. They have 2 bikes at every cottage and you can also rent a golf cart to wheel around the place. The grounds are extensive and well maintained. They offer 2 pools, one adult and one family. We always choose the family because we love the sounds of all the families playing. We do not play golf but my husband has tried the paddle boarding and he loved it. You can canoe or kayak or fish or crab. The Canoe Club restaurant is our favorite place to dine but the River House is nice also. In the summer you can dine casually on the porch of the River House. What a wonderful place for a romantic getaway OR a family vacation.

Room Tip: Ask for a Cottage Suite facing the river. It has a seperate living room with a gas fireplace and co...

My wife and I stayed at this resort recently to celebrate our Anniversary and also to attend a friends birthday celebration in nearby Hilton Head. We had planned on taking a few day trips over to Hilton Head during our 4 night stay, but we ended up not wanting to leave the resort. There is so much to do on site. One day we lounged by the family pool (it was much more active than the adult pool) while we enjoyed cocktails and the buffet. We then took a nice kayak trip around the inlet. Another day we rode the resort provided bicycles around the extensive property.

We did spend one day exploring some of the nearby towns. The resort has a deal with Mercedes, so they offer loaner cars for you to use. We chose the SL550, which was much nicer than ride we brought to the resort.

The cottage we stayed in was perfect. We stayed in a lagoon view cottage which had a porch next to the inlet with a view of greenery, water, and birds. The cottage was spacious and clean with a refrigerator and stereo system. The refrigerator was handy for the wine and cheese we brought from home to snack on.

The food was great at both the River House and Buffalos. The River House is more formal than Buffalos (although dress is still resort casual). The toughest part of both restaurants was choosing between the great menu items.

The front desk staff and concierge were very helpful. One morning we drove into Bluffton to enjoy breakfast. The concierge recommended The Cottage, which was much better than Squat and Gobble which we insisted on trying the next morning.

The entire experience was fantastic. If you love the South, you will love this place.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Lagoon View room.

My husband and I just returned from Palmetto Bluff and plan on being repeat vistors. The
cottage suites feel just like home. The views of the water, the screened in porch and the
cozy feel, make you want to stay in your room all day!
You do not need a car during your stay, because once you arrive you won't want to leave.
Golf course was outstanding! The entire staff go out of their way to make sure
the level of service is top notch.
A resort not to be missed!

Room Tip: The extra cost of the water view suite is worth every dollar.

In the Fall, we usually try to spend some time in the mountains. This year, we elected to go to the Low Country. It started raining driving through the mountains and was pouring when we arrived at Palmetto Bluff shortly after dark. Our cottage was at the very end, so the ride through the moss covered trees in the rain was both eerie and pretty. The well-appointed cottage was very comfortable and the grounds were immaculate. One small irritant was having to order ice.The office sized refrigerator didn't have an ice maker. My wife relaxed and went to the Spa which she really liked. We visited friends in Hilton Head and enjoyed some local cuisine. I'm an avid outdoorsman but honestly was bored after a couple of days. I should have taken time to go on a red fish trip. I played golf at the resort. The course is manicured and well maintained but over priced. Depending on your tee selection, it can be challenging for the average golfer. My caddie was nice, but he really wasn't much help. One night we ate dinner in the "casual" restaurant. I was one of only a few not wearing a jacket. The service and food were both good. Overall, the entire stay was an enjoyable experience.

A most beautiful property that does not disappoint on any level. The cottage suites are simply devine: the best linens, furnishings, lighting, even a sub-zero small refrigerator for complementary refreshments! The dressing area is amazing: large deep drawers, ample hanging space with an abundance of wood hangers, and a table and chair- perfect for a make-up station. The bathroom is beyond belief- all marble with spotless white porcelain and modern fixtures. The king size bed has fine white linens, and feather pillows fit for a king and queen. The entire area is lushly decorated with the very best of fabrics and attention to detail. At 1340 square feet, this is like a charming little home! I was sorry I was only there two nights. Very very expensive and worth every dollar.

Room Tip: Cottage and cottage suites are perfect. They come with two bicycles as well to enjoy the property. I...

We've lost track, but I think was our 10th trip to Palmetto Bluff. This time we dragged along 8 couples to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday at the end of September. Months of advance planning and preparation culminated into a truly epic weekend. Kudos, to Heather, Rob , and Hugo for making the weekend so amazing. Private booze cruise on Friday evening, Golf, tennis, spa, and some of the best food you have ever eaten. Be sure to try the Cuban at Buffaloes. I make a point to have one daily! Super easy drive from Charlotte and on arrival greeted by the same friendly bellmen, Gregg and Madu that always know your name. Our guests were all treated like VIPs, and kept asking why they had never been to the Bluff before. Thanks to all for making such a memorable weekend!
If you are as picky about resorts as I am, Palmetto Bluff is exceptional. Truly 6 stars in my book.
And if you like Caribbean travel, be sure to check out our other favorite, the uber luxurious Amayara in Turks and Caicos. We are headed back there in a few weeks..need another vacation to recover from the birthday.

Room Tip: We like Cottage 13, 15, or 17. And be sure to request a golf cart for tooling around the property.
