This charming little restaurant, tucked in an average but nice strip mall, has a surprisingly creative menu! I first had lunch here with a friend I was visiting. They offered a lovely baby mixed greens salad with fried oysters. Being from Michigan, you don't see fried oysters on menus too often, and never on a salad.
Reluctantly I ordered it urged on my my friend that it was spectacular. She was correct! They were cooked just perfectly; crisp but lightly battered and seasoned. When cut open, the oyster was supple and perfectly textured. Compared to other friend oysters I had on this trip as appetizers, this by far was the best! The greens were fresh and the dressing was excellent! Wish I had asked what it was.
The atmosphere is clean but nothing special. I was almost worried the food would be sub-par based on how the decor looked: kinda simple mom & pop style. Service was adequate but not too attentive. But the food was so good I insisted my hubby and I have breakfast here the next morning.
The breakfast menu was extensive and we ordered a huge variety of foods to try. Starving from a light dinner the night before, we had pancakes, eggs, waffles. It was all above average and very well prepared. The coffee is very good. The service was better than at lunchtime.
If you want a casual and unfussy place to eat, at great prices, this is your spot!
