“very comfortable hotel with friendly and attentive staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

All rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Aside from the noise from the in room a/c units when starting the cooling cycle mentioned by others, we found everything about this property to meet or exceed our expectations. The staff was friendly, and responded quickly to any request. The service staff did an excellent job of cleaning the rooms. The bar has a friendly barkeep, and was knowledgeable of local eateries. The restaurant offers a breakfast that is good, but nothing extraordinary. Restaurant staff was attentive and efficient. By the way, if you request a king bed, you will not have a marsh view. We stayed in a king room, and also a double queen room. Only the double queen rooms face the marshes.
The gym is a nice facility, but the hotel cannot keep some guests from stealing batteries out the remote for the TV. Two days in a row, you could not change the channel, since batteries had been removed from the remote... REALLY,people ??!!

Overall, this Holiday Inn is very nice, and represents a solid value.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms hold two queen beds, and face marshes- nice views!

I am not as enthusiastic as other reviewers. The location of this property is on a busy commercial road a few miles from the historic district sharing as lot with Econo Lodge.. The view of the marshes out the large window was a great feature--mesmerizing. So be sure to get a room facing the back of the hotel. The room was clean , the bed was very comfortable. The suite was large and nicely designed with two separate spaces. The bathroom was large with a nice tub .The food service staff were friendly. My gripes are that breakfast, which came with my rate, was just OK, if that. The lighting was not good-- and in the bedroom the lighting was really inadequate. When I asked for help I was told --"I don't have a lamp and housekeeping is gone". I moved the lamps around from one room to the other myself and that helped some. The front desk staffing did not seem adequate and the person there appeared beleaguered and was constantly on the phone so it was hard to ask a question.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as high up as possible with a view of the marshes.

This is now labeled as a Holiday Inn Express. The rooms were surprisingly large and spacious with a sitting area. Very current bathrooms. Comfy mattresses and pillows. Slightly lacking in electrical outlets near the bed, but there were outlets for charging electronics in other areas of the room (I like to keep my phone charging by the bed). We opted for the breakfast buffet and were very satisfied with it. It had your basic eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruits and pastries.

My room had an amazing view of the beautiful salt marshes.

The location is convenient to downtown, but a little more than you'd want to walk. A cab is less than $10 though.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an even number to get a view of the beautiful salt marshes.

I try to stay at Holiday Inns when I travel because I find they are consistent: well appointed, clean, and fresh smelling. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the beds and linens are fantastic. I always sleep well, which says something! This in Beaufort didn't disappoint. The location was central to everything I wanted to do and the front desk had a well designed map of the area. I was surprised at the breakfast special in the restaurant: $4.99 for one of three choices. The eggs and meat selection was more than I could eat. This breakfast would have cost $10-12 at a comparable hotel restaurant.

This hotel is wonderful & the room had many nice features. We were greeted at the front desk by Sarah, she made us feel welcome & she accommodated us in every way. Ashley, greeted us in the restaurant & made us feel special. She was attentive but not intruding. Gene, the maintenance person, was cheerful & gave us a warm greeting. Thankfully, we did not need his services. Others were just as good but we do not know their names which includes the lady that cleaned our room.

One thing, the hotels have gone to small pillows & we do not like them, bring back the full size pillows?

We think Sarah, Ashley & Gene need a raise as they are exemplary in the way they greeted us as guests of The Holiday Inn Express at Beaufort, NC.

We spent the better part of the week at the Holiday Inn in Beaufort, SC attending our daughter's graduation from Marines boot camp. The room were well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The bed felt great too. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They get a lot of Marine families there, and they were very welcoming and helpful. They proactively told us about places to visit, and reminded us in advance that the local paper would have the names of the graduates on Thursday.

The bartender, I think his name was Jason, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local restaurants, especially the locally owned ones that we always look for. He knew their menus, what was a good bet, and which restaurants would not be crowded with Marine families. He also suggested the restaurant within the Holiday Inn itself, and he was right, too. Their food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

Everyone at this hotel was terrific. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. We had a king bed with a pullout couch which was perfect for my husband, our 4 year old, and me. The room was very nice and very comfortable. The lobby is really spacious and pretty. The pool was so fun for our son and the hot tub was nice for us. The outside patio is nice for a drink or two and we also had breakfast in the restaurant and were pleased. I did a lot of research on hotels in the area and am so happy we picked this one.
