We stayed at the Two Suns Inn while on vacation in Beaufort and found not a whole lot to like about it. We got a drift of the unfriendliness immediately at check in, the wife opened the door and barely let us in because we arrived 20 minutes early, the husband was standing in the breakfast area with his back turned to us and for the entire time that his wife went to check if our room was ready, he never turned around to say hello. I don't believe we saw our hosts smile once during our stay. They were beyond distant, I'd say more like unpleasant. We came to this B&B from a wonderful Savannah Inn and expected the same charm and warmth that the Southern hospitality is so famous for. Unfortunately, this bit of tradition must have alluded our hosts who were an Australian former actress and a French former film director. They didn't seem to have been enlightened yet that this was the habitude in South Carolina where they've settled years ago. The room they put us for 5 nights didn't have a closet and we were traveling with 10 days worth of "stuff", it was ridiculous, our clothes hung all over the place. We had only a shower stall with some crazy looping outer pipes that we couldn't figure how to operate and we never had enough hot water anyway. The room decor was shabby without the chic, not exactly the manifastetion of their ad, calling it a Romantic Southern Inn. The towels I am sure were white once, but ours were all different shades of white and although they made the bed every day, they never changed the sheets once in 5 days. We didn't have the ability to control heat/cool in the room so it was either too hot or too cold. The air vent was located on the ceiling right over the head of the bed and every morning we woke up with a sore neck. Breakfast had no menu selection and it was uninspiring and unhealthy (melted ham and cheese in a croissant). When I asked Henri for cream for my coffee he nodded in the direction of the fat free milk, when I repeated my request he said "there", pointing to the same container, The only time we asked him about a particular restaurant we heard about, he said "yes", and it turned out to be not exactly a "yes". We got more information from friendly strangers than from our B&B hosts. Our room had a thin door connecting to an adjacent bedroom and we could hear every word spoken there and I am sure that the other guests heard us well, not exactly ideal in a Romantic Inn. We basically felt that the owners didn't enjoy running the Inn nor did they care for the comfort or company of their guests. They certainly didn't do much to make us feel welcome. FYI, there are less expensive and much more attractive B&B in Beaufort that we visited while in town and I am sure they'd appreciate your business with a much different attitude. I strongly recommend to stay away from this place!
