“The customer is not right.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We were in town for a graduation and planned to stay three nights. The hotel was full the middle night so we stayed at a different hotel that night. But we were charged for all three nights. When we realized this a week later the manager was just rude. I have stayed in numerous hotels in my life and have never felt cheated like this. Would never stay here again and recommend that if you do check your bill twice.

We appreciate you responding to the survey in TripAdvisor and value your feedback regarding your stay. On behalf of Carlson Rezidor Hotels, we apologize that the manager of the hotel was anything less than professional and courteous in responding to your billing dispute. We have addressed this issue and brought it to his attention.

The Country Inn and Suites at Beaufort, SC was dingy, had far too many lights out, needed better cleaning or a full renovation. My wife referred to it as seeming dirty or unkempt. The facility seemed to be dull and lifeless. Being right outside Parris Island it makes it's money on visitors attending the graduations aboard the Marine Corps Base. On a comparative note, this is the worst Country Inn and Suites I've ever stayed at. The free breakfast had some entity that was supposed to be an egg, or that's my best guess. The coffee tasted burnt and the sleeping room was threadbare and dingy and outside noise was bothersome.. I won't be staying there again, nor recommending it to anyone. Carlson needs to do extensive renovation on this facility.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

We stayed here with our family for the Marine Graduation at Parris Island. This hotel is only about 15 minutes from the base which was nice. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly for the most part. The hotel is close to several restaurants and there is a bar across the road. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, so it was quiet. The biggest issue we had was breakfast. They said they opened early for breakfast, which was true. We arrived on Tuesday so we were able to enjoy breakfast Wednesday and get everything. Thursday and Friday we went to the breakfast room and were disappointed to find a lack of almost all the pastries and bagels and all the hot food when we arrived both days. We were disappointed about this because overall we liked the hotel, but the lack of breakfast was a major issue.

We always stay at Country Inn and Suites when we travel. This was probably the worst one we stayed at. The rooms were nice but trying to cut costs showed. The hotel was filled with Families of Marine graduation. We were ther for 3 nites.had to leave early in the am so they said breakfast was ready at 5 am well we got nothing out of coffee, food, rolls. The poor lady could not keep up said ill be right back with eggs, sausage etc and 20 min later never filled up. I think they were saving on food and putting only a little out. Was very disappointed. Also any other Country Inns have cookies out none here when asked they said they only make one tray. I think they put the Marine familes as pawns cause they know they will stay there. i could see one day not having enough but it was all 3 days we were there. On the way home we stayed at another Country Inn and what a difference. Shame on you Beauford Country Inn

We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites while attending the Parris Island Marine Graduation. This hotel is adequate, at best. The rooms were very small, the amenities were not in very good shape, and the personnel were average. Adequate is the most generous word I can come up with.
The shower was wonderful! I will give the hotel that accolade. The water pressure was great and the temperature was good.
There was a microwave oven and a small refrigerator in the room. This was a nice surprise. That's always a nice thing when traveling. Also, the tv was a nice flat screen, very ample size, but the remote didn't work (not that that is necessarily a bad thing, but when you are tired and just want to nod off, the sleep button would have been a welcome addition).
The beds were ok. They were not the most comfy, but they served their purpose. The sheets felt old, and pilled. On one bed, there was a large stain on the sheet - looked like a cooking oil stain. I guess that doesn't make a big difference to some, but it was a turn-off to me.
The location is wonderful. Only about 15 minutes to Parris Island and the base. And, the road on which the hotel sits is full of things to do, restaurants, and other necessary things (Dunkin Donuts, etc.). It is pretty congested along this road, but wanting the proximity to the Marine Base, we could adjust to this!
All in all, it's not a bad hotel...and like I said, it could have been worse.

Room Tip: As this hotel is on a crossroads, I'm not sure if the back of the hotel would be better noise-wi...

We arrived in beaufort late Tues evening exhausted from our 14 hour trip...After unpacking, checking our beds (which the sheets were changed, thank god), we where getting ready for bed...hubby then realized the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned! Hair and toe nail clippings in the corner behind the door and pee dribble on the inside rim of the tiolet...he freaked! Being so late, I just used towels, hot water and disinfectant hand soap I had to clean up the mess...I know, but seriously we had to stay there another two nights and didn't want to create waves with house cleaning...upon check in the very helpful young girl did tell us that on graduation day we didn't have to check out until noon and that after graduation we can come back so our Marines can change, freshen up, etc before our long trip back....great!...the morning of graduation we packed our bags and put them in our car SINCE we didn't know how graduation and leaving base would unfold...best to be safe then sorry just in case we didn't make it back by noon, we then had our personal belongings with us and had no worries on being charged extra time on our room...we did however leave my sons Bday cake in the fridge, it was his 19th birthday that day and DIDNT check out of our room...we wanted to come back for a piece of cake if time allowed us...we arrived back to the hotel before 11, excited to sing happy birthday have a slice of cake, freshen up and then get our Marine and his buddy home! As we entered our room (door open), we found the bed stripped, and birthday cake gone! Not a biggy, shame on us for leaving our room with our bags, but seriously they could of at least taken all the other garbage (take out pizza box, Chinese food containers, from two nights with them when they took the cake) it looked like the walked in, stripped the bed, looked in the fridge, saw a sealed unopened cake, grabbed it and ran back to their house keeping area to eat it, since we didn't see or hear anyone cleaning any rooms!!! And we where there for a good 20 mins... Hope you enjoyed my sons birthday cake, because that's all you were getting from us, no tip for you whomever you are... And I forgot to mention, the whole time we where there, they would come into our room, make our bed and replace our towels but that was it...never spot cleaned our sink, NEVER vacuumed the carpet and never disposed of our take out containers (that sat in a pile)

I stayed here one night, the hotel is alright but not in as good condition as other Country Inn's Ive been to. Front desk very friendly but lots of little things distracted from the stay. The common areas were looking fairly worn out. The room had a cheap cost cutting feel even though it was quite spacious. The pillows were far too firm and the room had some dirty spots that didnt seem to get cleaned well. A light in the living room was out. The bathroom had some hairs in the tub and the cooler had a puddle of something in it. While I would certainly not say this is a bad hotel, it fell short of my expectations for this brand.
