“Excellent Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Outside looks like "just an old 1800's house" but inside is a great historical presentation of the events & people who helped Beaufort become the town it is. There is a.$10.00 admission fee. Ok, goes to a great cause. Nice preservation of walls, doors & fireplaces. We enjoyed this tour a lot.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Less than what I thought it would be, but still very interesting. The Civil War exhibit underneath is also very unique, a great look at Beaufort's history.

The volunteer doing the tour was very knowledgeable and very excited about her opportunity to lead the home tour. The house is very interesting and the historical society continues to enhance the tour experience.

“Interesting tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

The Verdier House was a pleasant and relatively inexpensive way to spend thirty minutes learning a little of the history of Beaufort. The docent was very knowledgable about the house and it's history and had pleasant way of sharing her enthusiasm for the house. The house is limited in terms of furnishing but they do have an interesting exhibit on Fort Jackson that compliments the house tour.
