We just recently got back from a trip Westerly RI and stayed at the Villa B&B. First off, Barb and Michael are extremely knowledgeable about the area. They have quite a collection of menus from various restaurants along with all kinds of brochures highlighting things to see and do in the area.
We stayed in the Roma room which was very nice. It's basically a large room with queen bed and small living room area. The bathroom and jacuzzi are off the bedroom. The walk-in shower was wonderful. Never ending supply of hot water too! We only used the jacuzzi one time since we were gone quite a bit. Tip: You cannot use the jacuzzi past 10:30 pm due to the sound of the jets. The room was very clean and the girls kept it spotless during our stay. The only thing we noticed was a mildewy smell in the room which my relatives noticed too when visiting. We speculated that maybe there was a water leak at one time. Also, the carpeting in the room needs to be steamed cleaned in a few places.
You won't go hungry when it comes time for breakfast. You basically get to choose from 2 breakfasts along with many options for beverages, fruit, granola and yogurt. The breakfasts were delicious as was the coffee. We had breakfast in our room one morning but really preferred the dining room especially when the fireplace was lit. When breakfast arrived in the room, it was more on the lukewarm side than hot. It's hard to keep food hot when traveling any distance from the kitchen. Tip: The coffee maker in the room makes a terrible cup of coffee. Not sure why. Barb and Michael make great coffee so no need to even use the in-room coffee maker. You will find a menu in your room for breakfast the day before to make your selections and also to indicate where you want your breakfast served and the time (8:30, 9, 9:30). You simply drop it off on the dining room table the evening before.
In the afternoon there are cookies and pastries as well as liquors placed in the dining room for guests. The cookies and pastries are scrumptous, especially the chocolate chocolate chip and the lemon filled pastry cup. They are usually left out for a few hours in case you need a little something sweet at night.
The wifi in the room works great and there's a computer and printer in dining room so you can print off boarding passes, etc. The tv is tucked away in a cabinet (very nice touch) and has hundreds of channels (which we could never get the hang of finding what we normally watch).
There is a small outside refrigerator stocked with bottled water, some soda and a few bottles of beer and malt beverages for all guests to enjoy. There's also a pool (was closed for the season) and hot tub (we didn't use but could have if we wanted).
We had a very nice stay and would recommended the Villa for those looking for more of an intimate atmosphere of a B&B.
