“Hidden Treasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

This is one of the cleanest, nicest spots for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Staff is friendly, location beautiful. Food has been excellent every time we've been there. Somewhat hidden, off the beaten track in a marina on the Pawcatuck River. Rooftop dining is wonderful on a beautiful sunny day. Bring your own wine if you can't dine without it. Well worth trying - you will NOT be disappointed.

“Great Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Must stop and have breakfast, lunch or dinner here. The food is exceptional and always fresh. had the salmon burger, made from salmon, spinach and egg as a binder, no breading, over a salad. The restaurant is on a marina, so you can watch the boats go by. Also, very clean and neat. Its a byob restaurant.

“Rooftop dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

It's not the BEST view in the world, but Mermaid offers a very nice experience when you factor in the menu, the FRESH food and the sincere service. We had lunch over the 4th of July weekend. I can highly recommend the fish taco's. They don't try to do them "Mexican style," but more seaside/all American. Just fresh whitefish, salsa and avocado ... no spices that usually just don't hit the mark anywhere outside of California. The stuffed tomato special was great, too. Big, healthy portions. One thing of which to be aware, though, it's BYOB.

“Great scenery; great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Stopped here for lunch for the first time as The Cooked Goose was closed for a private party. The restaurant is located directly on the Pawcatuck River at a marina; view is fine. Deck was not open when we were there but would be terrific when available. Parking in plentiful. Service is excellent-friendly and informed; menu is varied and inventive (e.g. sweet potato salad) with some veggie items and locally sourced items. Decor is clean and light; just perfect for the locale and restaurant style. Will make a point of coming here again. Take out menu seems to be essentially the same as in-house.

“Great huevos rancheros”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We stopped here for breakfast by chance on our way through. What a great find. It is a little not very fancy cafe with good food. The huevos rancheros were delicious, spicy and filling. The service was very good. Prices were reasonable. Based on my breakfast this is a 5
