Attended a private event here at the restaurant. We all had a fantastic time and all had rave reviews for the entire evening; from arrival to departure. Loved it so much that 2 hours into our private dinner, we booked the chef's table for the following month. The staff is above and beyond nice, accommodating and nothing but professional. Everyone made us feel welcome and right at home. Beautiful setting as well.

We are so pleased that you and your party enjoyed your time at our fine-dining restaurant, Seasons. We think you will enjoy the Chefs Counter Experience just as much if not more. There are images on our website in the Dining section to give you a sense of what this experience will be like. This is becoming a very popular option for food and wine lovers. Enjoy!

Well trained professional staff have an eye toward personal service. Exquisite location and grounds. The interior has been decorated with excellent taste and style, and the furnishings - all of them - range from very good to high quality. The bed was too soft for our tastes, but I've a feeling they would adjust that somehow if you said something. It is clean, clean, clean. Thoughtful amenities, with perhaps the exception of an absence of nightlights (flashlights are provided instead). I expected a well appointed hotel, and The Ocean House fits the bill.

By all means, go to this glamorous establishment if you're in the mood for a high class, dress-for-dinner affair. If you're looking for a place to kick back, let your hair down and go 'round in your favorite tatty sweater (which I also like sometimes), an Adirondack great lodge would be a better fit.

A note to the mobility-impaired: You can easily be accomodated entering and staying in the hotel itself, with its wide doorways and entrance ramps. However, there was no apparent easy way down to the beach house on their paved walkways. In that case, crossing a grass lawn, going down stairs, or across gravel paths is required. The hotel may do well to discreetly install a paved connecting path, designate rooms for older or mobility-impaired guests, and provide grab-bars in or around bath tubs and showers. Costly and painful situations could be prevented that way.

Room Tip: They make no guaruntees for room requests, but they will take your requests into consideration. The...

Thank you for your feedback. There actually is very easy access for less mobile guests to reach the beach. We have a nicely paved path that can be accessed from the front of the hotel using a ramp out of the building straight down to the beach where there is a very large deck for full enjoyment of the beach setting. As is the law, and the right thing to do, we do have handicapped accessible rooms that offer larger bathrooms and hand rails for easy mobility. A guest simply needs to request such a room upon making a reservation.

Rooms are awesome! Service is very good but food is lacking. I am a trained chef with years of culinary experience but the menu needs to give gourmet a rest! I appreciate the gourmet food but would love to have some real food. Common type food that everyone eats, like pasta, pizza, grinders or fried chicken!

Thank you for your feedback. In the off-season we do have fewer dining outlets compared to summer months where you have four different menu options. However, during the time you stayed with us (March) we do offer our Bistro Menu in the Winter Garden which is a dining outlet adjacent to Seasons. The Bistro menu is a bit less gourmet with simpler fare such as lobster rolls, club sandwiches, salads, burgers, mac and cheese and meatloaf. I hope you will come back again and give our Bistro Menu a try.

Ocean House provides unobtrusive but perfect service. One is made to feel immediately welcome and at home and staff make every effort (successfully) to anticipate needs. As I was at a business conference, I did not have free time to enjoy all the hotel had to order, but everything they did was flawless. The room (king deluxe) was large and extremely well appointed, down to an ipad set to access all the activities of the hotel. Small details, like binoculars to enjoy the ocean (or harbor) view, a flashlight in the drawer, books to read about the area and soft music playing on the radio (with ipod dock) combined to create an atmosphere that was both comfortable and elegant. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom large and luxurious with separate spacious shower stall and an enormous soaking tub (with it's own tv). Most of our meals were served in the conference room, buffet style. The food was well prepared, delicious and interesting, with variety to meet everyones preferences. The soups, bread and desserts were particulary good. I can't remember a hotel stay when I couldn't think of anything that could be improved. This was one time.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us as a business traveler. We are so pleased that we made your time away from family pleasant and enjoyable. We are thrilled that you mentioned the ipads in the rooms as this is a new feature that launched in March and we are grateful for all feedback. We hope you find the time to come back as a leisure guest and experience all that the Ocean House has to offer.

One of the most beautiful ocean shore hotel & spa I have aver stayed in! Nothing extravagant, nothing overdone, nothing catchy of tacky, The Ocean House is luxury at its best. I stayed there in November, weather was very cold. Very sobre and boutique like from the outside, you feel the warmth when you walk in, in a beautiful, tastefully decorated lobby. The lounge is wide and confortable with cosy, steady furniture. The rooms are fabulous with a large bathroom semi-open to the bedroom. Beds are fantastic with the highest quality mattresses and linens.
The service is only outstanding, with knowledgable, professional, helpful and welcoming staff.
Spa has a sea water swimming pool, large enough for lap swimming.
No need to mention the Atlantic shore beauty!

Room Tip: Pick an ocean side room on the 3rd floor.

We just returned from our second annual "spring overnight" to the Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. These guys just keep getting better which is pretty amazing. We stay in plenty of very nice hotels/inns/resorts and no one does the little things better than the Ocean House and the property and location can't be beat. I said in my last review that there is no better ocean-front resort/property in New England and I absolutely stand behind that comment. Last March it was sunny and 75 degrees; this week it was sunny, windy and 35 degrees with some snow on the ground. It doesn't matter!

Thank you for sharing your comments. We are glad you mentioned that Ocean House is great no matter what the season or weather. With our Five-Star OH! Spa, our fine-dining restaurant, the amazing location and scenery, the spectacular art collection around the hotel and the interesting resort activities year-round, Ocean House is a great place to be any time of year. A visit to Watch Hill, RI as spring is just about here is a great way to energize and gear up for the warm weather at The Ocean House. We checked in to a very friendly, and accommodating staff, eager to please and make us feel at home. We sipped our champagne and were shown to our beautifully appointed and nicely upgraded room ( unexpected and greatly appreciated OH!). My wife and I couldn't be happier. We overlooked the majestic sun drenched beach and magnificent property.
We immediately went straight to the gym for me and spa for my wife and enjoyed a good two ours of relaxing in the pool/ and facilities. We repeated this each day.
I enjoyed the bar for a while and then we went to Seasons the Farm to table restaurant which was outstanding,we ate there both nights as well as an amazing breakfast each day ( love those scones and croissants, send me some more please !)
Over all my wife and I loved everything about this place, we love to check out new places and this one is now added to our list and we look forward to another trip to OH this summer as I can't imagine how great the beach will be and by the way they are doing a great job making the hurricane sandy mess disappear. Thank you OH see you real soon!

We look forward to welcoming you back this summer. We offer beach cabanas for rent by the day down on our private beach and we are expanding our dining outlet at the beach called Dune Cottage. The deck was destroyed by Storm Sandy so we decided to expand it as well as the food options. We will have some scones and croissants waiting for you.
