“Nothing too fishy about this place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2011

I visit Amaral's about every other week. It's a small very unpretentious place that always looks closed from the outside. The menu is limited and straightforward. Paper plates and plastic utensils rule here. No liquor unless you bring your own and then be very discreet. The fish is fresh, hot and tasty. They change the oil on the fried items regularly. The staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable. Nothing fancy, just decent seafood. If you are looking for a quiet place where you can relax and wear what you want.......this IS the place to come. Oh, and no waitstaff to annoy you.

“Friday Night Fish Frenzy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2008

A family owned fast food fish & chips take out specialist, Amaral's has lost it's originality.

Once viewed as the "only " place in Warren to get your Friday night fish delight, it has lost it's charm.

When cooked fresh, the menu can be very good, the service quick and polite. Their homemade sweatbread is excellent.

Success has spoiled the Friday night fish frenzy with the mass over production of their product. I have had that " refrigerator " taste in the fish when mass produced on a friday night and question the storage of it's shelf life, and had to discard it at home.

Timing, like everything is important, so lunch can be a treat, and be selective with your taste.
