“Not So Much..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

We were looking forward to camping here but we won't be going back. From the minute we arrived, we didn't feel welcomed. We had to argue with the lady checking us in that we did not have a registration with our vehicle. Our state, MO, does not require us to keep it with the vehicle.

The campground was very crowded. It is not what I considered camping. It was more of a trailer park with campfires. All of the sites were VERY close together. Heck, we had someone drive a motor scooter through our site. The restrooms were dirty. The scenery around here was very cool but I would not reccomend camping here... Unless you are a city slicker who doesn't want to leave leave town and just be able to say "I went camping". Not for us.

“Great Farmers Market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

A lot of our friends camp here and love it! They have a really nice Farmers Market on Sundays and we always take a walk around it. There are great vendors that come, all very unique and lots of fresh veggies and other choices!

“Never Again!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

Location only. Everything else was in negative numbers. Bathrooms were not clean or functioning for that matter. Felt totally uncomfortable with the treatment from the very first minutes. The children rangers were on a power trip as subscribed by guests in next lot. Had not even shut off the forty foot rig when I exited the rig to see my position and the kid ranger told me I could not park.it that way. With only a masters degrees to communicate with this child is was difficult at best. No AC allowed, no sewer, no grills. They could use lessons from Gunter Hill state park that out rates them by far. Charged our camper on the list to get in and when told they answered we are sorry. I camp all over the US and this place is substandard by far. They charged full hookup rates and do not deliver near your expectation. Received better service in vacant parking lots.
Never again for sure....

“Great location near beaches, fishing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We have stayed here in September for two years now and are most impressed with the quiet beauty of the camp ground and this area of R.I. As others have said, the sites are quite different. We have a pop up tent and have had the same site 177 in area 4. There is a lot of privacy in this area because of the vegetation between the sites. Also a lot of rabbits and woodchucks - fun to watch. There is a large playground with a ball area and swings for the kids. The historic remains of a WWII fort provide interesting walks and viewing points. The park rangers and staff are friendly and helpful. The only down side - the bathroom and showers (area 4) need a lot of attention. There was quite a lot of mold in the shower this year. The camp is close to several great sand beaches. The fishing village of Galilee is wonderful for boat watching and fishing charters, as well as a ferry to Block Island. A wild life refuge boarders the campgrounds, too. So it is good for bird watching. Nearby Point Judith Light house is a great place to watch the sun set. The Coast Guard plays taps and lowers the flag nightly and it is quite impressive. Fisherman's Monument on a hill near the light is a memorable place to end the evening.
