“Old style fishing village!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

Nestled amid some of New England's best beaches, this venue for the Block Island ferry is also an interesting working fishing port. One can buy lobsters off the boat or in one of several fish markets that back up to the docks. If they don't have what you need, they go out the back door to the dock to get it! Wonderful place.

“Great Place for a Stroll and Bite to Eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Galillee is a seaside location from where the Block Island boats leave from. There are also many fishing and lobster boats located there. You can buy fresh fish and lobsters. Or you can visit one of the restaurants in the area. There is a nice beach located there. We walk the beach which is clean and safe. A great place to visit to cool off in the summer.

“nice beach town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

this area has soooo much potential to bring in lots of tourist. the beach are convenient , many places to eat and drink, some with great views. they have a small handful of gift shops, but they are mixed in with commercial fishing warehouse sort of buildings...which really takes away from the charm of a small town.
if you want a beach town that offers small town charm I would suggest watch hill in westerly, or Newport.
galilee is more of a fishing pier , with private boats, commercial fishing boats, and docks.
this town would be great if they put all the commercial fishing buildings and stuff down at the right end of the of the ferry pick up and then did charming gift shop fronts , b&b's and inns at the beach inn. they would gain money from tourist and fishing docks.

“Cool little fishing port”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

You can catch the Block Island Ferry from here or there is a Beach up the road. A few small shops and plenty of restaurants to pick from. We ate at Champlin's which provided great views and a huge seafood platter. Parking rates were 10.00 for the day but if you drive through the main strip and park on the road parallel it's 4 hour parking for free. The beach looked nice but it was too cool try it out on the day we went.
