“Absolutely awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

I have stated at nicer places for 69 bucks a night! Conference center has one toilet for each men and women but can accommodate up to 400 people. Rooms were disgusting and tiny. The "view" was laughable.... Customer service stunk!! Ugh so disgusted!! Would rather stay at a cheap chain hotel next time

We have stayed at the VI for the past 6 or 7 summers for 5ish days or so. Place was never terribly clean but could live with it as it is across the street from the best beach in the east.

No more

We get into our room last wednesday and it just was not clean. We wiped the top of the headboard and it was black with dust. Went to put a bag under the table between the beds and there was food all stuck to it. Wiped it and black with dust and food again. Stuff was growing in the fridge. The microwave looked like a food bomb went off inside it. We asked the front desk about this and they said housekeeping was gone for the day and no manager was on duty. They gave us some cleaning supplies but we told them to clean the fridge and nuker the next day. They were not. Nor the next day. We asked the manager kevin about this and he had no idea about our problems. If you were manager, would not rule #1 be any complaints, I want to know about. Kevin has been there for years and, hey, it starts at the top.

Then the pool. Just filth everywhere. I really loved the huge hairballs on the floor - 3 or 4 of em - huge. Were there when we left 5 days later.

Everywhere you look in that hotel, you see stuff broken or in need of cleaning - everywhere. Our room had 5 lightbulbs out - about half. It is quite obvious nobody cares about the hotel. they are all collecting a paycheck and that is it. yet I paid over $300 a night. Place should be spotless.

From now on, gonna stay 10 minutes away, pay half the amount, and just drive and pay for parking at the beach. it is a shame as the beach is the bomb.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere

Stayed in Oceanside room with balcony. Balcony tiny, no ocean view & 150' degrees due to poor a/c ventilation.
Room was gross: moldy, dirty, dated, & certainly not as described on-line.
Beds were too soft, pillows too hard & mega bleach smell on sheets.

There were water stains on ceilings & walls. As well, there was a dead silver-fish bug stuck in the picture frame. NASTY!!!

Jacuzzi tub jets had black mildew.

Not worth the value at ALL.

Just returned from this "inn", which is stretching the truth immensely. Upon check-in, we requested 2 additional pillows in our room to which the desk clerk responded with a "humph", and then gave us attitude telling us there were already 2 pillows in the room. (I had also mentioned my need for pillows, being 7 months pregnant with twins). I had to ask again before my husband and I received an answer. Once we got to the room, we were less than impressed. Curtains covered with mold, worn out decor, and a bathroom the size of a broom closet. Then to top off our experience, we were told by the same rude man that we had to leave their lot and couldn't park in their lot for the day, after we had just paid 230. for a dump of a room. And, we watched several other guests who had just checked out pack their cars, leave them in the lot, and head to the beach. Absolutely horrified with the treatment we received, and the entire experience. Never have we felt so unwelcome. Next time we are in Narragansett, we will chose one of the MUCH nicer B+Bs.

Lovely location with comfortable rooms. I am currently staying in room 212. At 4pm I was awoken from my nap to heavy base. I called down to the front desk and was told there was a wedding in the hotel but that the music would not be heard from my room. I asked if i should change my room and was again assured not necessary. Well, as I sit hear singing along to Journey I think that is not the case. Honesty would have been a better course of action and certainly does not bode well for other recommendations from the front desk.

We took a family vacation to Narragansett and stayed here for the first time. There are no major chain hotels in the area and we found this hotel to be far superior to the other local choices in the area. We were very pleased with our accomodations and the amenities. While the hotel isn't brand new I found the bathroom was nicely updated and the double queen bedroom suite to be spacious. The small balconey gave us a nice view of the ocean and deck below. The kids loved the pool and hotub. Plus the location can't be beat.
